Witton Gilbert Village Hall Association- Cooper Hall This is the official page for Cooper Hall in Witton Gilbert! Hello, Welcome to the official page of Cooper hall in Witton Gilbert.

This page will be keeping you updated with all the things going on with the hall. The hall is a village hall located in Witton Gilbert, Durham. The hall has a number of rooms/halls for hire for any special occasion and for people starting up new groups within the village. The hall has one Large hall, a smaller hall, a moderate size craft room and a commitee room. The hall also has a recently refurbished kitchen and cafeteria area. All the rooms are available for hire and are reasonably priced for more information about booking one of our rooms/halls please give our booking secretary Arnold Simpson a call on: 0191 3712161 or on 07982862127. Throughout the year the hall has many fundrasing events for all the family such as a childrens christmas and hallowen party, a pie and pea quiz night and fayres.We will post any news on here as soon as it has been finalised, for any information about ouyr events please get in touch with out through messages or call Arnold Simpson for tickets and information on events

Discover the Joy of Crochet (and Knitting!) this Autumn and Winter!
As the days draw in and the 'ber' season starts, it’s the perfect time to join us for some mid-week creativity! Whether you want to find a little ‘me’ time or master a new hobby, our sessions are the perfect place to start.
The Power of Craft
Crochet and knitting is believed to have many mental health benefits. It’s been known to help with stress and anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It is even known to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and can greatly build self-esteem. It’s a wonderful way to spend time with a friendly community who love to create!
Our Weekly Sessions
We have a lovely group of ladies who meet at Copper Hall, Witton Gilbert, on Wednesday evenings for 2 hour sessions:
Time: 6:30pm to 8:30pm
Cost: £6.50 (includes tea, coffee, and biscuits!)
What we do: We cover everything from the very basics for beginners, complete new starters and advanced support. In addition to our regular workshops, I run special projects usually on a weekend—past favourites include Boho bags, Mandalas, storage baskets and Wheat Stitch cushions! I can help with anything you are currently working on.
Knitting Support & Tuition
While the main focus of our group is crochet, knitters are also very welcome! I am an experienced knitter and can offer:
Beginner Lessons: Learn to knit from scratch in a relaxed environment.
Pattern Support: I can help you navigate more complex knitting patterns and technical stitches.
Project Help: Whether you’re a seasoned knitter or just starting, I’m here to support your knitting projects alongside our crochet activities.
You might be a seasoned crafter who wants to meet with like-minded people for a relaxed sharing of ideas, or a complete novice wanting to start something new and exciting.

8th October, come along and visit our friendly Thursday murder club.
We spend the session looking at evidence in relation to one true crime case (both solved and unsolved), serial killers, wrongful convictions, mysteries and much more.
We welcome all adults. No previous knowledge necessary - all information is given in the session.
£3.50 Witton Gilbert Village Hall Association- Cooper Hall in the small hall, 6:15PM - 8PM.

🌟Did you know the Hall has the following groups for children🌟

a Dance class💃, toddler football⚽️, theatre group,🎭 and a playgroup🧸.

These groups have been running within the hall for several years, all with amazing teachers, leaders and staff.

Why not come along and find out more about these.

If you have any ideas/requests for other childrens activities please speak to the committee on the day.

🌼 We’re coming to the Witton Gilbert Community Centre Open Day!

Come and say hello to Beth and Nicky from Daisy Bloom Women & Wellness on Saturday 3rd October. We’ll have tasty little treats, our Stop Starting Over book offer, Nutracheck and Yuka demonstrations and absolutely no diet-culture nonsense! 😂

Whether you’re curious about our friendly Tuesday morning sessions, one-to-one coaching, workplace training or finding out more about a wellbeing speaking event, pop over for a chat. No pressure and definitely no hard sell.

We're mainly just hoping someone speaks to us so we don’t have to eat all the samples ourselves! 😉🌼
