🎄 Christmas Table Decoration Workshop – Date Confirmed! 🎄

I’m very pleased to be able to let everyone who expressed an interest know that our Christmas Table Decoration event has now been secured! 🎉

It will take place on Saturday 5th December 2026.

Thankfully, due to the huge amount of interest, our lovely session leaders have kindly agreed to run both a morning and an afternoon session, so we can accommodate as many people as possible.

Further details, including session times, ticket price and how to book, will follow very soon.

Thank you so much for supporting the hall with your interest, enthusiasm and interaction. You are what keeps the hall alive and makes all our efforts worthwhile. ❤️🎄

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT! 📣

Good afternoon, lovely folk of Howden!

The vote is closed and the winning theme for our first Quiz Night is…

🥁 drum roll please… 🥁

🇮🇹 ITALY! 🇮🇹

Tickets will be £7 per person, which includes:

🇮🇹 Italian-themed table snacks
🧠 An Italian-themed quiz
🎶 Two half-hour sets of live music

The evening will run from 7pm–10pm.

So, it’s time to start brushing up on your Italian knowledge — and warming up those singing voices! 🎤🎶

🎟️ Tickets will be available to buy in person from 6pm at Howden-le-Wear Village Hall on Monday 7th September.

With live music from Jeff Cass, Terry Richardson and their musical mates, it’s looking like it’s going to be a fabulous evening!

📵 One important quiz rule: mobile phones must remain firmly out of action when it comes to looking up answers! 😜

** water supply**
**update- system re pressurised and everyone should be back on now **
Just putting this on incase it helps anyone - been in regular contact with Northumbrian water. They thought all supplies fixed at 4.30, after a burst pipe in fox covert grove- but I reported no water in vicarage close straight away- they were sending an engineer - no one arrived so I have just rung again apparently several reports now of people with no supply, so engineer on site (at fox covert I assume) investigating since 5.30. Just had text update to say 2-3 hours further work required.
After 6 hours of no supply Anyone who is vulnerable and cannot get bottled water supply themselves is entitled to ask NW to deliver bottled water to them. Hopefully this might be useful info for someone !
