We took over The Woodyard (Luton Hoo Estate LU1 4LF) July 2024, transforming a basic coffee shop into a café-brasserie, a destination for good food and drinks, a warm welcome, and dedicated service.
Sous Chef
Experienced in cooking fresh and prepared food
Good knowledge of allergens
Strong working ethics - quick and efficient whilst delivering well-presented dishes
Good communicator able to manage two lovely dedicated kitchen porters
Dedicated to cleanliness and a hygiene standard (kitchen and all equipment)
Able to working alone and with our Head Chef (candidate will be given training from get-go)
- Rates of pay from £14.00 + gratuity
- Number of hours per week - 30 hours – must be prepared to work extra hours
- Essential skills/qualifications needed for the role: a blend of formal training culinary diploma, and experience in a similar establishment –Good command of English and transport are essential
- Job type - permanent/temporary- permanent
- Working pattern and days - 9.00 to 3.00 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday - might be asked to support Chef some Sundays and evenings
- Number of jobs- one for The Woodyard, however we are considering another business, so anyone with the right attitude and experience could be considered
Waiting staff
Experience of waiting at table
Knowledge of operating commercial coffee machine
Some experience of operating a till preferable
Safety and Hygiene certificate
Comfortable with light cleaning duties
Must have transport
Rates of pay £12.21 + gratuity
- Number of hours per week - 30 hours – must be prepared to do extra hours
