If you like fixing things, problem-solving, or just lending a hand, this is a great way to make a real difference! Windy Sayles needs you.

We need someone to help maintain our local Guiding centre and campsite so that the girls can continue to experience residential opportunities. You can be involved in a way that works for you, suiting your skills, interests and availability.

What you'll be doing:
- Carrying out small repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Undertake tasks such as sweeping external areas, jet washing paving, and cleaning windows.
- Minor decorating tasks, including painting and general touch-ups.
- Exterior tasks such as cutting back, and other gardening tasks.

The skills and qualities you’ll need:
- Experience of working in a caretaking or maintenance role
- Knowledge and skills acquired through a hobby relevant and transferable to the role
- Confidence in using basic maintenance tools and equipment
- Knowledge of health and safety legislation in order to work safely
- Flexibility and adaptability to be able to deal with a variety of different maintenance tasks that arise.
- Reliability and trustworthiness

What you’ll get:

- Provide 2 character references.
- Complete a criminal record disclosure check (DBS, PVG, Access NI or Police Check depending on where you’re volunteering).
- Complete our safer guiding training because this role involves working directly with girls.

Do you have leadership qualities? 🤩 Or are you looking to level up your leadership skills, and would like to work with a team of volunteers to deliver a fantastic programme of activities that show girls what they’re capable of?
If the answer is yes, then Rainbow leader is a great role for you!

As leader, you'll run regular Rainbow unit (group) meetings and be part of a team of volunteers who come together to plan and deliver a programme of awesome activities. Become a Rainbow leader in Houghton Regis and help girls aged 4-7 know they can do anything.

Fabulous afternoon celebrating amazing volunteers at our Girlguiding Bedfordshire County awards.
An amazing 1291 years of service from wonderful volunteers, from 5 years right up to a huge commitment of 70 years. All celebrated with other awards from thanks badge, heroes awards, youth awards and Bedfordshire broaches and a Girlguiding Anglia award.
