For four decades, this vital lifeline has kept our community connected, ensuring independence, mobility, and friendship for those who need it most.

As we look ahead to 2027, we have a massive mission on our hands: we need to raise £50,000 in 12 months to fund a replacement bus! 🚐✨

Without a replacement, we may eventually have to rely permanently on temporary vehicles like this - and our passengers deserve the reliability and comfort of a dedicated, top-quality bus.

I’m organising a two course Sunday lunch at Kazmicks Restaurant on Sunday 15 November in aid of South Beds Dial-a-Ride.

Dial-a-Ride provide an essential service to those who can no longer use public bus services through health and disability. Their door-to-door services are often the only means of transport for some of their service users and they need to raise money to enable replacement buses over the coming months and years ahead.

Tickets are limited so please reach out and let me know if you would like to reserve some.

Did you know that having your own Blue Badge makes a huge difference when you travel with Dial-a-Ride?

When our passengers display a valid Blue Badge during their journey, our minibuses are permitted to drop off, pick up, and wait in designated accessible bays right outside shops, medical centres, and community venues.

Without a passenger badge, we often have to stop further away or circle the block to find suitable parking—which can mean longer walks and unnecessary delays.

If you are eligible but don’t yet have one, applying is straightforward:
👉 It belongs to you, not a specific vehicle, so you can bring it on every trip you make with us.
👉 It helps our drivers safely get you as close to your destination’s door as possible.

🚨 When the unexpected happens, we go the extra mile!

Earlier this week, our friends at COM Church Dunstable faced a stressful dilemma: a group of young people on a trip down in the New Forest were suddenly left stranded after their planned drivers were unable to do the return journey.

Enter our incredible drivers, Iain and David!

* The Setup: Driven down to the New Forest this morning by a member of the Com Church team.

* The Action: Stepping straight into action to take the wheel of the minibuses.

* The Result: Every single young person safely brought back home this afternoon! 🏡✨

At Dial-a-Ride, we pride ourselves on being flexible and ready to step up when our community needs us most—whether it's our regular schedule or a last-minute rescue mission.
(And peace of mind always comes as standard: all our drivers are fully insured, DBS checked, and hold the D1 category on their licence.)

It was our absolute pleasure to support Com Church in their hour of need.

Community spirit at its finest! 🙌

The Crown•Houghton Regis has a new landlady. Jackie is transforming the pub and will be serving up a delicious menu and a great community feel!

They’ve chosen to identify a number of charities to support each month, and we have been lucky enough to be asked to provide them with some collection tins and literature about our dial-a-ride services that we offer.

So if you’re popping in feel free to donate via the collection boxes - every penny raised will go back into maintaining our service.

A night of fun was had at the Bingo tonight where we held a fundraising evening in aid of Dial a Ride.

We were joined by the Mayor of Dunstable Town Council, Councillor Richard Attwell and his Mayoress, and the Mayor of Houghton Regis Town Council, Councillor David Jones and his Deputy Mayor, Yvonne.

We thank those that were able to join us, those that donated ahead of the night and those who were playing tonight not realising it was a Charity night but still donated!

It was good to see several trustees and members of our team enjoy themselves - no fortunes won tonight sadly…. Back to work tomorrow!
