Details of Carol's service 🩷

The family of the late Carol Williamson have asked us to share the following funeral notice.

WILLIAMSON – Peacefully, at home, on Friday, 10th July 2026, surrounded by her loving family, Carol, dearly loved mum of Lloyd and India, much-loved Mère to Stanley, Francis and Roberta, loved sister to Helen and Stanley also a treasured friend to many. A celebration of Carol’s life will be held in the service rooms of Sturrock, Comb & Davidson, 102 St Vincent Street, Broughty Ferry, on Friday, 24th July 2026 at 12.30 p.m., to which all family and friends are respectfully invited. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, may be made at the service in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK.

We are so very, very sad to hear our sister Carol has passed away peacefully after a short illness.
Carol sang with the altos the last three years or so and we had been missing her recently as she became unwell. Two of these glam photos of her are from February's McGala opening at The McManus and she looks so beautiful and full of life. She loved dressing up and being part of this event with her singing sisters. Carol had an absolutely brilliant sense of humour and we will miss her presence hugely. We send all our love to Carol's family and friends 🩷

We had a lovely time singing together on Sunday at The Woodlands Hotel to kick off a charity lunch and fashion show to raise money for Children's Hospices Across Scotland. We love to support this charity when we can, so big thanks to Jackie Campbell for asking us along. Extra special thanks goes to our singing sisters in Duende Voices as some of them joined us for this performance. And now summer term is GO! ❤️🎶

McManus Mondays: Illustrating Curtain Call

Join illustrator Laura Darling for a playful drawing workshop inspired by the museum's new temporary exhibition 'Curtain Call: Costumes from Stage to Screen'. Explore the temporary exhibition and see how designers create a costume, from sketchbook drawings to fabulous, finished design!

Laura will guide you through a series of drawing and mark-making exercises designed to warm up your drawing muscles! Beginning in the gallery, you will explore Curtain Call through drawing before developing work in the Learning Studio, using mixed media to create illustrations inspired by the exhibition’s spectacular costumes and designs.

This informal workshop is suitable participants ages +16 and for all skill levels, whether you draw regularly or haven't picked up a pencil since school.

Price - £20 (all drawing materials are included)
