Being part of something bigger means helping create change that truly matters. 💜

At WRASAC, our volunteers play an important role in supporting survivors, raising awareness, challenging stigma and helping us work towards a world free from sexual violence and abuse.

Whether it’s through social media, community awareness, campaigns or placements, every volunteer helps amplify voices, encourage conversations and create safer spaces for those impacted by sexual violence.

Volunteering can also be an opportunity to build confidence, gain experience, meet like-minded people and be part of a supportive community working towards real change.

Keep an eye out for upcoming volunteer opportunities with WRASAC this summer. 💫

There are many reasons why someone may not report sexual violence straight away, or at all. Trauma can impact memory, trust, confidence and the ability to process what has happened.

Barriers such as fear of not being believed, societal perceptions, long investigation processes, sentencing outcomes and a lack of understanding around the impacts of sexual violence can make reporting feel overwhelming.

Breaking down these barriers starts with listening, believing survivors and creating spaces where people feel safe, supported and informed about their options.

No matter where someone is in their journey, they deserve compassion, understanding and support without judgement.

We are thankful to have the support of Beauty Banks who exist to provide organisations like ours with essential hygiene products - helping thousands of people access basics such as shampoo, toothpaste, soap and deodorant.

Although Beauty Banks work with over 2,000 organisations nationwide, it is run by a tiny team of three, and fundraising is absolutely critical to helping them continue the great work they do

To help in their fundraising they've launched The Beauty Banks Heist - a major fundraising campaign featuring an online auction, beauty raffle and lifestyle raffle, filled with incredible prizes donated by brands, artists, celebrities and supporters of the charity.

The Beauty Banks Heist is now live! Click on the link below to see if there's something you'd like to bid on

Reporting sexual violence can feel overwhelming, and many people don’t realise they still have rights, choices and support throughout the process.

You have the right to be treated with dignity and respect, to receive clear information, to access support services and to have your wellbeing considered at every stage.

Support is available whether or not you choose to report to the police, and you should never feel pressured into making decisions before you are ready.

Knowing your rights can help you feel more informed, empowered and supported. You deserve to be heard, believed and treated with compassion.

We are here for you 💜

If it’s just happened, you might not know what to do next, and that’s okay.

You don’t have to have all the answers right now.

You don’t have to report. You don’t have to go through this alone.

There are services here to support you in a way that feels right for you, at your pace.
Whether that’s talking to someone, getting medical support, or simply understanding your options, you deserve to feel safe, heard and in control.

Support is available through services like SARCS, WRASAC and R**e Crisis Scotland, who can guide you through what comes next without pressure or judgement.
Take things one step at a time.
You are not alone, we are here for you 💜

What we watch doesn’t just entertain us… it shapes how we understand relationships, consent and what’s “normal.”

When film and TV blur boundaries, romanticise control, or present harmful behaviour as passion, it can make abuse harder to recognise in real life.

Jealousy isn’t love. Control isn’t care. Ignoring consent isn’t romantic.

When these messages are repeated, they can make unsafe behaviour feel acceptable, leaving people questioning their own experiences or feeling like they won’t be taken seriously.

That’s why this matters.

We all deserve relationships built on consent, respect and safety, not fear, pressure or control.

By questioning what we see and challenging harmful narratives, we can start to shift the conversation, support survivors, and create a culture that takes abuse seriously.

Your mental health matters, every single day.
Whatever you’re carrying, whatever stage you’re at, you don’t have to face it alone.
Taking care of your mind can look different for everyone. It might be reaching out, setting boundaries, resting, or simply getting through the day, and all of that is valid.

We know it’s not always easy to ask for help, but support is here when you’re ready.
You deserve to feel safe, supported and heard.

Be gentle with yourself this week 🤍

Today is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day 💙

For survivors of sexual violence, accessing healthcare, especially pelvic examinations, can feel overwhelming or triggering.

Your feelings are valid.

You deserve care that feels safe, respectful and trauma-informed.
You have the right to be listened to, to ask for adjustments, to bring support, and to go at your own pace.

Ovarian cancer can affect anyone with ovaries, and knowing the signs can make a real difference.

Symptoms like ongoing bloating, pelvic or tummy pain, feeling full very quickly, needing to wee more often, unexplained or irregular bleeding never be ignored.

If something doesn’t feel right, trust your body and seek support when you’re ready.

You are not alone. we are here for you 💜
