As Greystone Rovers 2016 & 2017s approach the bleaker, cold months, we are seeking to kit the team out with a new waterproof/warm layer for training.

Our 2016s were in action this morning at Wilson Park, hosted by Lochar Thistle Youths

Coach Deek was especially proud

🦁Rovers Roar🦁

Our 2017s hosted league fixtures at the Crichton this morning with Soccer Bees Girls, Queen of the South Community Trust and Morton Thistle Juniors 2017s in attendance.

With just 1 team playing in the fixtures, and no regular goalkeeper, net minding duties were shared out between Proudy, Carter, Jayke, Quinn, & Ollie, who all managed to keep clean sheets with some determined shot stopping 🧤🥅

Outfield, the team played with the usual skill and determination, and produced goals galore. From silky individual goals to some fantastic team goals. Special mention to oor G, who took the ball out the air like a prime Bergkamp.

Quinn carried out today's Captain duties leading the defensive press from the front and using his awareness to bring others into the game 🙌 Quinn passes on the armband to todays PotD, Liam, who scored 2 screamers in the first game, and was a machine in winning back possession and driving the team forward 💪 Well done Liam 👏

As we head into the last week of official training before the holidays, if parents can be available at training sessions for Alex Radley to lead game day chant practice 🎵🎶🎵🎶🤣

🌧Wet but wonderful at Holm Park 🌧

1 squad of our 2017s took to the Holm Park to play a festival hosted by Queen of the South Community Trust, with Upper Annandale FC - Juniors Threave Rovers 2017s Morton Thistle Juniors 2017s also in attendance.

With a heavy downpour just at kick off, the kids didn't let this dampen their efforts or deter from playing some slick flowing football. Playing mainly on the front foot, the pressing and quick feet were brilliant to watch, with some great team and individual goals.

As the rain continued to hammer down (and sideways), the decision was made to call it a day. We never want to pull kids from playing football, but health and wellbeing are paramount for everyone involved.

Captain for today, Alfie, provided some great fleeting feet out wide. Driving into space and dictating the movements of his team mates to help progress the ball positively 🙌 Alfie, passed the armband onto today's PotD, Proudy, who was strong and composed in defence, and his decision making of driving forward or playing the pass were on point! Also turning into Prime Neymar at one point down the right wing. Well done young man.

Hope everyone is dried up and will see you at training tomorrow.

Our 2017, Liam, took part in the Hardrock duathlon at the weekend, in the 8-9 year category.

Liam took first place.....then headed down to Annan to play in League fixtures! Some effort young man 💪🙌
