There is a massive difference between selfishness (pursuing your own desires at the direct expense of your responsibilities and the people who rely on you) and self-investment (engaging in activities that recharge your mental, emotional, and physical battery).

The Line Between Healthy and Selfish:

A hobby becomes selfish only if it is used as an escape mechanism to avoid real-world responsibilities or communication. If the bills are paid, the people you love feel supported, and your daily duties are met, spending dedicated time on your passions isn't selfish—it is regular maintenance for your mental health.

​Taking ownership of your own well-being isn't a luxury; it's a prerequisite for taking care of everything else.

I love getting out in to the Peak District on walks, cold water and I'll often do a woodland workout, that or hit the home gym.

I fill my cup up, I release stress and by doing so.... I have more to give.

A night of steady flowing conversation and a decent workout.

Big question time 🤔

"If your son or a young man who looks up to you copied your exact daily habits, self-talk, and coping mechanisms, would you be proud or worried?"

I offered this question at the Men's Day and I've thought about it ever since.

How I show up daily. How I carry myself. How I speak to people. How I act around people. How I accept mistakes/failure and learn. How I talk to and about myself.

For me, my son is an absolute sponge at minute. Soaking up everything I do and say.

I'm playing the long game. Who do I want my son to be at the age of 25.....because that starts now through my actions and decisions.

🫤I ran my first Men's Day and here's what I felt.

Fear of failure

Fear of shame

Fear of success

They play a part in all of us.

Confidence comes through repeated action. Action teaches us results. Either positive or negative. We expose ourselves enough to that and we build trust in ourselves.....confidence.

Either way its valuable information we can use.
