Celebrating Progress: Groundbreaking Ceremonies at Sheree Devi and Sheree Janata Secondary Schools!
On Thursday, 14th May, Dignitaries gathered at Sheree Devi Secondary School and Sheree Janata Secondary School in Kattari Municipality, Udayapur, for two truly inspiring groundbreaking ceremonies. These events marked a major step forward in our shared mission to bring safe sanitation and hygiene to local students and communities in Nepal.
The ceremonies were vibrant with cultural and religious significance, featuring traditional Hindu customs and the symbolic turning of the earthβa powerful gesture representing new beginnings and hope. The ceremonies were led by the Past President, Ranjeev Shrestha of the Rotary Club of Dhulikhel, and attended by local leaders, teachers, students, and community members. Their participation made the occasion both meaningful and memorable, blending civic pride with deep-rooted traditions.
This milestone is more than just the start of construction; itβs a testament to the power of international partnership and community spirit. The Rotary Club of Dover, was the international partner, and these schools will soon benefit from WHO-standard toilet facilities and comprehensive hygiene educationβan investment in health, dignity, and the future of every child.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed to fundraising. Special thanks go to Tony Cook, Brian Dunne and the whole International Team whose unwavering dedication over two years helped raise an incredible $48,000, making this project possible. Thanks also to the Rotary Club of Aachen and Rotary Club of Akron-Newstead for their support of this project. Your donations helped to bring us to this moment, and your generosity will leave a lasting impact.
Thank you to all who supported this humanitarian project. Together, we are building not just toilets, but brighter futures!
