Carers Week 2026💚

Do you help look after a friend or family member? You may not think of yourself as a carer, but if you provide unpaid support to someone with an illness, disability, mental health need, frailty, or substance use, you are.

This Carers Week, we're recognising the incredible contribution carers make every day, and helping people find the support available to them across Dorset.

We are proud to be supporting !

Care Co-ordinator and Carer Lead for 2Harbours Healthcare Primary Care Network and Sarah-Jo Boyle and Dorset Council Carer Case Worker Kay Linehan-Cross will be in Damers Restaurant today (8 June) from 11am until 3pm.

On Wednesday (10 June) Poppy Connell from Dorset Care Service, Help & Care, will be in The HIVE from 10am until 3pm. We will also have our Carer’s Café from 2pm until 4pm.

There will also be an information stand in The HIVE between 10am and 3pm on Thursday (11 June).

💜 It’s Carers Week! 💜

Carers Week is a UK campaign raising awareness of the vital role unpaid carers play and the challenges they can face. It’s a time to recognise the impact caring can have on health, wellbeing, work and everyday life, and to remind carers that they are not alone.

At Help & Care, we’re proud to support carers every day. We offer information, guidance, emotional support and practical help to make caring a little easier and to help carers look after their own wellbeing as well as the people they care for. 💛

If you are a carer, or know someone who is, Help & Care is here for you. Please get in touch with us to find out what support is available — you don’t have to manage everything on your own.
