Thank you Poundbury Rotary Club for having us 🤝

Simon would like to share this about the day:
It was a pleasure to attend and speak at this local community event, sharing information about Help & Care’s wide range of services and the support available to unpaid carers, people affected by dementia, and those looking to improve their wellbeing. It was encouraging to see so many people engage with the discussion, learn about our holistic, person-centred approach, and hear about the positive impact of programmes such as Social Prescribing and HOPE. Thank you to everyone who took part and shared their experiences 💛

At Friday's breakfast meeting, Poundbury Rotary Club welcomed Simon Thompson from from Help & Care, who shared an insight into their work supporting people and communities across .

We were particularly interested to hear about the HOPE Project and the difference it makes to people’s lives. It was a valuable reminder of the importance of connection, compassion and helping people access the support they need.

At Poundbury Rotary, we believe that strong communities are built by people and organisations working together to make a difference. Opportunities like this help us learn more about the fantastic work happening on our doorstep and how we can support our local community.

Our Neighbourhood Support Hub is a wellbeing event showcasing a range of organisations that support our local community. The event is open to everyone and provides an opportunity for patients to connect with a variety of local support services available to them.

A huge thank you to the team at The Tank Museum for inviting us to be part of the On Track Event last week 🤝

"It was a pleasure representing Help & Care at the On Track Event at The Tank Museum. We had a great day, and it was wonderful to meet and network with other organisations who offer support. It was also great to learn more about how we can all work together collaboratively to help our community."

We're grateful for the opportunity to connect with so many fantastic organisations and explore ways we can continue working together to make a positive difference.

If you look after a family member, friend or neighbour, you're not alone.

Unpaid carers across Dorset are being invited to join free peer support groups, offering a friendly space to meet others who understand the realities of caring, share experiences and build new friendships.

Groups are available in Blandford, Bridport, Gillingham, Lyme Regis, Shaftesbury, Sherborne and Wareham, and are open to all unpaid carers, including people who have recently been bereaved.
