Christchurch Community Partnership Working together to end social isolation in Christchurch

The CCP's vision is to alleviate social isolation and loneliness in the Christchurch area, which we do both by directly delivering services, and, equally as importantly, through working in partnership with other organisations and agencies also serving the community of Christchurch

Loneliness can have a huge impact on physical and mental health – but it doesn't have to be that way.

This , we're resharing this video as a reminder of why CCP exists.

Every day we see the difference that simple connections can make. Whether it's a chat over lunch, a conversation over coffee, a giggle at an exercise class or just a good old natter on the bus, our clients feel more connected and less isolated.

If you'd like to find out more about the support available through CCP, or support us yourself by donating time or funds to help our work, please visit our website to find out more.

We love it when CCP's Hidden Heroes get the recognition they deserve! 🎉

Volunteer Rod was awarded a Room to Reward prize this month, in the same week that previous recipients Sue and Alan were away enjoying their well-deserved break at the seaside! ⛱️

Room to Reward is a unique charity that arranges hotel breaks for volunteers who give their time to support others and strengthen their communities.

We're delighted to see Rod recognised in this way. Alongside Sue, Alan and so many other wonderful CCP volunteers, he helps make our work possible.

A huge thank you to all our volunteers – and we hope Rod enjoys every minute of his well-earned break!

🩷 "It's joyful to watch how much people enjoy connecting with others."

Seija has been volunteering as a Bus Buddy for over a year and says she loves seeing how much our clients enjoy CCP’s activities.

Volunteers like Seija are vital to our work at CCP – we simply couldn't do it without them!

If you’ve ever thought about volunteering, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you can spare a little time or a lot, there are lots of ways to get involved and support local people.

At CCP, our volunteers truly span the generations! 💙

From Ace, our youngest volunteer at just 16, to Martyn, our oldest volunteer at 90, we’re so proud to have people of all ages helping us tackle loneliness and bring people together. 🫶

Ace says it’s “truly inspiring” to watch people build new relationships through CCP, while Martyn says volunteering “broadens the mind” and helps him do something useful for others.

To Ace, Martyn, and every single one of our volunteers: thank you. You make such a difference to the lives of local people every day.

It's and we want to say a huge thank you to the incredible volunteers who support CCP! 💙

In 2025, 76 volunteers gave an amazing 3,430 hours of their time helping people across our community – from lunch clubs and Sunday Roasts to exercise classes, transport and office support.

We’re so grateful for the kindness, care and enthusiasm that our volunteers bring every single day.

And the feedback says it all:

✨ 100% of CCP volunteers say volunteering is enjoyable and worthwhile
✨ 97% feel supported and valued
✨ 100% would recommend the experience

A big thank you to The Plotters Patch who donated £50 to support our work earlier this month! 💙

The wonderful Plotters Patch are a community group based in Throop. The group is run by volunteers, and raises money for local charities by growing and selling plants and vegetables. 🥦🌿

The lovely Sue popped in to our office last week to drop off the cheque, pictured here with our volunteer coordinator Liz!

Our vital work wouldn’t be possible with the generous support of individuals and organisations in our local community so thank you!

A quick pit stop en route to lunch club to take in the sea air, beautiful views and the paragliders. Many of our clients really struggle to get out and about to enjoy the things most of us take for granted. Our bus runs on kindness… and unfortunately, diesel. 😅 Help us keep isolated people getting out, about, and connected by making a small donation, if you are able, either by hitting the donate button or by messaging us for other ways you can help. Thank you.
