🌳 Supporting Communities Near and Far with Christchurch Rotary!

Did you know that local community efforts reach all the way across the globe? Christchurch Rotary is proud to share our latest update from our Lendwithcare initiative, proving that small actions can spark life-changing transformations.

🤝 𝗢𝘂𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗻: 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗛𝗼𝗮 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺
We are helping, Hoa, a 61-year-old woman from an ethnic minority group living in Thanh Hoa province, Vietnam, alongside her husband.

Drawing on over 39 years of farming and forestry experience, Hoa is using the funding to purchase 5,000 acacia seedlings and 80 bags of organic fertiliser to replant her harvested acacia forest area.

Acacia cultivation plays a vital role in poverty alleviation in this hilly region. Hoa is also an active participant in the local Green Credit program, learning modern, sustainable farming techniques to ensure long-term success.

LET’S TALK OVER COFFEE! ☕️🍽️

At 𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗰𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗼𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆, we believe that building a strong, vibrant community starts by coming together. That’s why events like our recent Dinner About Town are so special to us! It’s a wonderful evening of sharing great food at local restaurants while supporting the very businesses and people that make our town thrive.

Did you know that community-focused events like this tie directly into Rotary’s core Areas of Focus, specifically supporting local economic development and fostering peace and community cohesion right here at home?

We are proud to be People Of Action who don't just talk about making a difference, we roll up our sleeves and make it happen. Whether we're organising local dementia care meetings, organising fundraising events, or washing up at Somerford ARC lunch club, we are always looking for new ways to uplift Christchurch.

We would love to buy you a coffee, share what we do, and hear your ideas for how we can make an even bigger impact together. 🤝

A massive thank you to our fantastic friends at COOK on High Street, Christchurch, for their continued generosity! This week, they treated our Somerford ARC Community Centre Wednesday Lunch Club to a delicious batch of their famous Beef Stroganoff — and as you can see from the photos, it got a unanimous thumbs-up from everyone!

This is community collaboration at its finest. Christchurch Rotary is proud to act as the bridge, bringing amazing local businesses like COOK together with vital community hubs like Somerford ARC.

Every single week, around 60 local residents come together for a affordable two-course meal, a warm cuppa, and brilliant company. Beyond serving food, it’s all about tackling isolation and bringing people together. Our Rotarians are on hand every Wednesday from 12 to 2 PM to help wash up, lend a hand, and share a laugh with the team.

Want to help make a difference in Christchurch?
Whether you’re a local business looking to give back or an individual keen to volunteer, Rotary is a great way to get involved in your local community.

Drop us a message to find out how you can join the fun!

Huge thanks to Darren Lewis from Home-Start Wessex for joining our Christchurch Rotary dinner meeting last night!

It was inspiring to mark three decades of community impact and hear how the charity has grown to support families right here in Christchurch and across Dorset. A few highlights from the night:

⚫️ 30 Years Strong: Reflecting on a remarkable legacy of walking alongside families when they need it most.

⚫️ The Power of Volunteers: Learning about the dedicated team whose time and heart drive this mission forward.

⚫️ New Saxon Square Shop: Have you visited yet? Drop by their new Christchurch store to shop pre-loved treasures and support a vital local cause.

At Christchurch Rotary, we are always proud to connect with organisations making a real difference in our community.
