Tennis Summer Camp at the Dornoch MUGA

Looking for a fun and active way to keep the children entertained this summer and away from screens?

Give them the opportunity to develop their tennis skills while making new friends, building confidence, and staying active outdoors!

While tennis is at the heart of the camp, there will be plenty of other activities to enjoy, including football, uni-hoc, tag, ultimate frisbee.

Whether your child is picking up a racket for the first time or has been attending tennis sessions throughout the school term, this camp is designed to be fun, engaging, and suitable for all abilities.

Over the past month, we've seen more people trying something new at the MUGA, from picking up a tennis racket for the first time to discovering the fast-growing sport of pickleball.

A big thank you to the volunteers who have helped make the taster sessions possible. Their willingness to lend a hand, welcome newcomers, and keep things running smoothly has helped turn a simple idea into regular community activities.

We're especially pleased to see new faces coming along, having a go, and finding a sport they enjoy.

At The Dornoch Hub, we're fortunate to have community members who generously give their time, skills and enthusiasm to bring people together.

A huge thank you to the volunteers who have stepped forward to organise and run our newest regular groups:

These clubs wouldn't happen without local people willing to share their interests and create opportunities for others to connect, learn something new, and enjoy good company.

If you've been thinking about joining either group, new members are always welcome!

We would like to recognise and thank our incredible Community Transport volunteers for the time, dedication, and care they give to IV25 residents.

In 2025, our volunteer team has achieved:

📍 11,657 miles driven
🚗 245 journeys completed
🙋 17 volunteers
⏰ 622 hours volunteered

Some remarkable individual contributions include:

🏅 Most journeys completed by a volunteer driver: 27
🏅 Most hours volunteered: 100
🏅 Most miles driven by a volunteer: 2,135

These figures represent much more than numbers—they represent people helping people, reducing isolation, and ensuring members of our community can access the services and support they need.

Come along and pick up all the ingredients for your Saturday night aperitif in the garden!

Start with creamy goat cheese from Jumping Goats Dairy, paired with honey from Skelbo Bee Works and a spoonful of rich onion chutney from Struie Hill Preserves.

Add slices of venison and fennel salami — or maybe even a seaweed salami — from Clyth Charcuterie, alongside smoked salmon from ORD Oak Smokehouse for a true Highland sharing board.

On the side, pick up savoury bakes from White Cottage Baking Bothy, with something sweet from Kilted Fudge Company or Marie’s Cakes & Bakes to finish.
