At 0053 this morning we heard a Pan Pan from Aberdeen coastguard about a vessel in destress of the coast of Portmahomack!
From experience we know vhf coms in that area are patchy so decided to head out to see if we could be of any assistance!
On arrival we made contact with the boats captain! he assured us he was ok he was just anchored up waiting for the swell to drop!
we established communications with Aberdeen coastguard who informed us invergordon lifeboat was on route!
due to the tide going out fast the boat ended up run aground!
With a joint effort with members of Dornoch coastguard team under the watchful eye of the lifeboat we had to enter the water and get the 3 casualties and their dog off the boat and to safety of dry land!
It was a great outcome to what could have been so much worse! everyone is safe and sound and we have now stood down ready for the next one!
