That’s why the Help to Claim service from Citizens Advice Scotland offers a Video Relay Service (VRS), allowing you to communicate with an adviser using British Sign Language (BSL).

How the service can support you:
✅ Check if you’re eligible for payments
✅ Support you through your Universal Credit claim
✅ Help you prepare for your first Job Centre appointment
✅ Check your first payment is correct

Bank branch closures don’t just mean inconvenience – they can increase financial exclusion, particularly for older people, those without reliable internet access, and small businesses that rely on cash services.
