UPDATE,
Sadly, this poor dog passed away today. He had been on a drip to rehydrate him and we did as much as we could as safely as we could. It is such a shame that we are not able to send the brains for testing to know for sure whether it was Rabies or not. We had a very similar case to this a few years ago, but he made a good recovery, though he lost his sight for a while.. it is frustrating not to know as it means that we cannot learn.

This dog came in yesterday. He had been kicked by a donkey but it's hard to know for sure whether he was kicked because he tried to bite the donkey. There is a big question mark about whether he has Rabies so any treat.ent he receives has to be given with utmost care and he has to be kept in isolation.

Luke being pampered by Wally. Luke has come a long way from the shy, untouchable camel who came to us. He is a good Ambassador for his species and he is particularly good with children.

We would also like to give sincere and heartfelt thanks to Carola Röhricht and Help to Help Gambia GV-K and the people who support her, who sent a massive donation of much needed goods to help our work. The animals send their love and thanks for the delicious food and wonderful supplies that you sent us.
We know what hard work is involved in collecting, packing and sending shipments and we are all very grateful to you all.

The football boys arrived today to help out. They are members of a football academy. Some of you will recall the skinny horse called Marry. It would have been so easy to condemn her owner, but instead, we sat and talked and listened to each other. He had purchased Marry as a rehabilitation project but very soon realised he could not afford to help her so he brought her to us. Whilst we spoke, he told us of his passion for football and teaching children the game. Marry now lives with us, many of you collected football equipment for him and now, on a regular basis, he brings the boys up to learn about animals and help out so it's a win win situation for all of us.
Thank you boys for your help.

Poor dog, why oh why are they left so long before they come to us.

When we rehome dogs and puppies, we carry out home checks and post homing checks to ensure they have settled in well and videos like these reassure us that they are doing well. Thank you to the new owners for taking good care of them.

In February, Nikki Hunt, a nurse from The Liphook Equine Hospital, came out to volunteer with us. When she returned, Liphook Equine Hospital put a request out on their social media for bits, headcollars etc. A couple of days ago, Nikki appeared with her car packed so full of equipment that we almost didn't have room to store it. We were so busy unloading that I forgot to take photos!
We would like to give BIG thanks to Nikki, The Liphook Equine Hospital and all their clients and friends who so kindly donated. It will make such a huge difference to our animals in The Gambia and it was a bonus to catch up with Nikki again too. Thank you all so much!
