Look out for the new blackboard on display in the Production Garden at Polesden Lacey next time you pay us a visit. It’s a great way to stay up to date with what’s growing in the garden right now, and discover the seasonal jobs that are top of the garden team’s to-do list. 🌱

This month, the team is harvesting lettuces, radishes, herbs, spring onions and young beetroot. Delicious – and perfect for adding to summer salads and light lunches. Surplus produce grown on site is regularly available to take home from the Welcome Area in return for a donation. 🥗

Our season of tastings in the shop at Polesden Lacey continues, with two opportunities to sample some delicious drinks coming up fast.

This weekend (Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 June), come inside the shop to try a taste of Drinks Kitchen’s Spiced Rhubarb Aperitif, a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage that’s ideal for adding to sparkling water or soda. 🥂

Then, on Saturday 20 June, enjoy a free taste of beer from Crumbs Brewing, who collect unsold artisan bread from local bakers and use it to replace the malt in the brew. Sample beers made from naan bread, sourdough, bloomer loaves and rye bread and then pop into the shop to buy a few cans to take home. 🍻

The roses at Polesden Lacey provided the perfect backdrop for a special dress this week. Stylishly worn by Sophie, who visited us despite the rain, the dress was covered with dozens of delicate, handmade roses and complimented by a matching headdress.🌹

We loved seeing the added splash of colour in the garden this week! Celebration of Roses continues at Polesden Lacey until 30 June.🥀

The Production Garden looks wonderful right now at Polesden Lacey with fruit and vegetables thriving, and beds full of flowers that are being grown especially for cutting and displaying in the house. 🌸

Many of the plants in the Production Garden offer visitors more than just a pretty sight or tasty ingredient for a meal. They provide a multi-sensory experience through a combination of scents, textures and colours.

If you’re seeking a moment of calm as a busy half term week comes to an end, come along and breathe in the fragrance of the first of the season’s sweet peas and enjoy the familiar scents of mint, sage, rosemary and lemon balm all around you. 🌿
