Hormones don't stand still - so why do we often measure them as though they do?
Reproductive hormones change continuously throughout the menstrual cycle, yet testing frequently relies on measurements taken at a single point in time.
At BASEM Conference 2026, Dr Thom Phillips will explore this challenge in The Hormonal Waveform: Mapping the Menstrual Cycle.
Drawing on real-world data from a BASEM-supported observational study, Thom will examine what it takes to capture a more complete picture of menstrual hormone fluctuations.
💬 Could understanding the full hormonal waveform change how we approach measurement and interpretation in women's health?
The talk forms part of the BASEM Research Bursary Awards session, chaired by Professor Stefan Kluzek.
