WiltshireCIL are working alongside the Community Transport Association, (CTA), to focus on improving transport for disabled children & young people. They've also linked together with Calne community transport and we will be facilitating a group of young people to create a positive plan for transport in the future with the CTA. 🤙🏿📲Contact WCIL if you/your young person would like to be part of the group.

Here's a bit more info from the CTA:

Are you a disabled young person? The Community Transport Association wants to hear about your experiences of travel - what works, what doesn’t, and what needs to change.

Funded by Motability Foundation, this survey looks at journeys to school, activities and beyond, and your feedback will help shape more accessible transport for the future. As a thank you, you can also enter a prize draw to win one of three £250 high street vouchers.

We want to hear about your experiences travelling to school, activities or anywhere else. 🔊

Our Pioneers have been involved in various things that make an IMPACT to them, as disabled young people, as they get older. We continue this next, with a Young Pioneer session on May 27th 2026. We welcome back Joe & Jack from Wiltshire SEND Offer (formally Wiltshire Local Offer), to talk all things SEND with the Pioneers and to create how best the SEND offer can support Young People as they grow up. 🎉

We will be in - Needham House, Devizes. Parking is available on the site or in the road alongside it. ☺

Please let one of the team know if you can make it, so we are able to cater for you and anyone you bring.
Please fee free to share with your networks and friends.

Wiltshire CIL is also celebrating its 21st year. Later in the year, we will be having a celebration of this, alongside the Ambitions celebrations. Check out the socials for updated info!👉

It’s officially Mental Health Awareness Week 2026!

This month’s theme is Take Action, inspiring us to think about what small steps we can all take to look after our wellbeing 💚

Following on from Abbie and Jo’s conversation from Children’s Mental Health week, here are some top tips from the Pioneers for how you can look after your mental health: ✅

🟢 “I’ve found contact with animals really helpful, especially if you can get hands on. And regular contact or times hanging out with people who really get you, so you don’t have to pretend, and are accepted as you are, is really supportive too.”

🟢 “Mine is family - my pets keep me going. Finding people that understand me. Taking a day at a time. And just trying to get through one day I guess when it really bad. Not trying to be so hard on my self about bad habits too!”

🟢"I like to go for a walk in nature to help with my wellbeing."

🟢"I love to pop into town to one of my favourite coffee shops where they know me by name, to sit alone and have a coffee but surrounded by people."

Add your top tips in the comments below!

My story of how I started at work 🏫💚

Hi, I’m an Intern in WCIL. I started only as a pioneer but then I was asked if I could be a Intern, the first of many to come!

I have written a story about how I started my job

The reason why I’ve written this is because I felt very scared and didn’t know what was to come

This is a story to help you feel more comfortable and to be ready for work
