The thought of giving evidence in court can be stressful and scary.
To help you give your best evidence, you may be able to use something called special measures.
Special measures are things the court can do or provide to put you at ease and to make you as comfortable as possible while you’re giving evidence.
“I had a curtain … so I couldn’t see my perpetrator. You know they’re there, but I felt that did help. The curtain was quite close in on the box, so you almost felt a little bit of protection around the back of you, almost like a blanket. I needed that.” (Victim-survivor of sexual violence)
Our free online resource, My Support Space, has a guide to special measures, including who may be eligible, the different types of special measures available, what each one means, and how they could help you.
