History Walk and Talk
A wonderful morning was spent on Friday exploring the rich local history of the townland of Tireighter in Park, during a guided Walk & Talk led by Pat Deeny and Malcolm McSparron from the Stonemasons Cottage, Ballrory.
The group visited Tireighter Burn and explored several old stone homesteads throughout the townland, with many fascinating stories and memories shared along the way. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn more about the area's heritage while connecting with others through local history.
Afterwards, everyone returned to the community centre for tea, scones, and further discussions with Malcolm and Pat, continuing the conversation and sharing even more local knowledge.
As a thoughtful gesture, Malcolm presented Karen with a beautiful oak sapling on behalf of the Stonemasons Cottage Group as a token of appreciation.
This was a lovely collaboration between the Stonemasons Cottage Group and the Learmount Group, and a great example of community coming together to celebrate our local heritage.
