A big thank you to everyone who came along to our St Brigid’s Cross making session in Cumber House this evening. It was lovely to see so many people taking part, sharing stories, and keeping the tradition alive. A really enjoyable evening , thank you all for making it so special ☘️✨

Tomorrow, the 31st of January is the Eve of St.Brigid's Day and one of the beautiful traditions is to put a piece of cloth, a scarf or other item of clothing outside tomorrow evening to gain Brigid's blessing as comes back across the land visiting the homes of those who honour her. The Brat or cloak of Brigid will be imbued with her blessing and protection for the coming year and can be worn, used to treat headaches, toothaches, sore throats and for general protection and safe keeping. Her cross can also be left outside for her blessing before it is hung up inside the home to protect those within.
