SUNDAY

S — Slow down; don’t have to do it all today.
U — Understand that rest is productive, too.
N — Notice when life feels a little too heavy. D — Don’t be afraid to ask for support.
A — Allow yourself space.
Y — You don’t have to face everything alone.

Take a breath. Take your time. And remember, asking for support is a sign of strength, not weakness.

All of us at Men’s Action Network are incredibly grateful to Seamus Quinn’s family for allowing us to honour his memory in such a meaningful way this week.

Dedicating our support room to Seamus is about much more than a name on a door. It’s about recognising the impact one person can have on the lives of others, and ensuring that their kindness, generosity and legacy continue to live on.

We were deeply touched by the generosity shown through their fundraising efforts, which raised £27,000 for our charity. That generosity reflects the kind of person Seamus was and the difference he made to those around him.

We hope the room will be a place of support, understanding and hope for men who need it, carrying forward the values Seamus lived by.

To his family, thank you for trusting us to be part of his legacy. Your kindness means so much to everyone at MAN, and we will ensure that Seamus is remembered with the respect, dignity and affection he deserves.

His legacy will live on through the lives he continues to touch.

Does your community group or workplace want to do something meaningful for men’s health and wellbeing?

With International Men’s Day coming up, we have a few spaces left that week for community organisations and businesses to get involved.

We can design a session around what matters to your group, whether that’s men’s mental health, physical wellbeing, breaking down barriers to asking for help, or creating a space for open, honest, confidential conversations.

Already have something in mind? We can tailor existing session packages to suit your ideas and available time.

Whether you have a full afternoon or just an hour to spare, let’s make it count.

Our charity is proud to highlighting the work being done to support male victims of domestic violence and help prevent homelessness as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Week.

Thanks to the vision and support of the Northern Ireland Housing Executive (NIHE) Housing Executive, we’re able to play our part in ensuring that men experiencing domestic abuse have access to support, safety and the opportunity to rebuild their lives.

This week is about shining a light on the organisations/charities, partnerships and initiatives making a real difference for victims of domestic abuse. We’re delighted to showcase the work being delivered through NIHE funding and the positive impact it can have on people who need it most.

We want to thank NIHE for their vision in recognising the vital link between domestic abuse and homelessness, and for investing in work that helps people move towards safety, stability and a more secure future.

Collectively, we can make a difference.

Sometimes it’s easier to paper over something perfectly, to the point it loses its purpose.

It can look perfect from the outside. Clean. Tidy. Nothing to see.

But underneath, the problem is still there, and eventually, you need to use that socket and it's hard to reach.

Mental health can be the same.

We can hide stress, anxiety, grief, pressure and pain. We can smile, get on with work, look after everyone else and tell people we’re fine.

But looking OK doesn’t always mean we’re OK.

You can paper over a problem, but you can’t live around it forever.

At MAN, we want to make it easier for men to talk before things reach crisis point.

Don’t just cover it up. Talk about it.
