A new oil support scheme to support households in Northern Ireland with home heating oil opens on 9th September for a £100 voucher to help you buy home heating oil.

Only one voucher will be allowed for each eligible residential address.

You may be eligible for the scheme if you use home heating oil as your main heating source and for at least one day of either qualifying period, you were:

A resident in Northern Ireland

and

Getting a qualifying benefit or you were a single person or part of a couple, including pensioners, with a net annual income below £30,000 after tax, national insurance or pension contributions

Qualifying benefits include:

Pension Credit
Universal Credit
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Disability Living Allowance
Personal Independence Payment
Attendance Allowance
Armed Forces Independence Payment
the Constant Attendance Allowance element of Industrial Injuries Disablement benefit
the Constant Attendance Allowance or Mobility Supplement element of the War Pension Fuel stamps

If you are getting any benefits, a home heating oil support voucher will not affect your benefit claim.

If you fill in a self-assessment tax return, it will not count as income.

The qualifying period is any day between Wednesday 1 April and Thursday 30 April 2026.

There will be a second qualifying period which will be any day between Sunday 1 November and Monday 30 November 2026.

Upcoming Programme - Understanding Anxiety Programme

We are pleased to announce our upcoming Understanding Anxiety Programme.
This programme will support participants to increase their knowledge, understanding and skills to manage anxiety more effectively.

This will include practical tips to address the physical symptoms of anxiety, an introduction to CBT principals and techniques as well as looking at how lifestyle factors and prioritising self-care can play an important role

Dates: 10th July, 17th July, 24th July, 7th August, 14th August, 21st August
Time: 10.00am-11.30am
Location: Koram Centre

This programme will be delivered by an accredited counsellor/psychotherapist

Advice North West welcomes applications for the following vacancy in our Strabane Office. Receptionist/Administrative Support Worker (35 hours p/w).
Applicants should be of a caring and empathetic nature, like helping people and have a flexible approach to work, excellent administrative and office skills and ability to be a constructive team player.

Skills required include a wide variety of general office administration including client appointments management, project and client record keeping, mail, correspondence and telephone work. Customer and third-party contact are an essential part of the role.

Essential Criteria: Applicants should have at least 5 GCSE’S or equivalent. Applicants must have strong interpersonal and computer literacy skills plus experience of working in an administrative office environment.

The successful candidate will join an ever growing, dynamic and evolving organisation committed to providing advice that makes a difference to peoples’ lives.
