The Dalkeith Singers

The Dalkeith Singers Join our vibrant Dalkeith Choir! New singers join us at Thursdays evening rehearsals at 7:30 PM. We also perform at other events along side other groups.

We sing a mix of classical and modern music, creating a space for singing, learning, and friendship, while bringing beautiful choral music to life. Choir practices are held on Thursday evenings from September to May at 7.30pm to 9.30pm in St Nicholas Buccleuch Church Hall near the centre of town. Our concert performances are given in Dalkeith each year at Christmas time and in the spring. In the p

ast these have included St. Giles Cathedral, the Queen’s Hall and the National Museum of Scotland. As a Community Choir we contribute to community events such as carol singing at the switching on of the Dalkeith Christmas lights and we also perform with other local groups such as the MacTaggart Scott Brass Band. The Dalkeith Singers is a registered Scottish Charity, no. SC032339.

Thank you.

To everyone who helped make Saturday's concert such a success, thank you.

To our choir members, orchestra, soloists, volunteers, friends, family, and everyone who came along to fill the church and spend the evening with us, we are incredibly grateful.

Your support, encouragement and enthusiasm made it a truly special evening, and we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

We are taking a well-earned break for a few weeks before our Autumn/Winter term kicks off with two free workshops open to existing and potential choir members. Thinking about joining us? Reach out and join us at our workshops!

Joy. Togetherness. Ambitious.

WHAT'S CURRENTLY ON YOUR PLAYLIST?
The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down by The Band.

WHAT DO YOU HOPE WE CAN CREATE TOGETHER?
A deep sense of wellbeing and positive energy in the community through the power of music.

There’s something a little magical about live choral music when it fills a church on a summer evening ✨

This June, The Dalkeith Singers invite you to an evening of powerful, uplifting music featuring Gounod’s St Cecilia Mass and Fauré’s Pavane.

No need to “know” classical music. Just beautiful harmonies, a welcoming atmosphere, and the kind of music that makes your spine tingle in the best way.

Our choir has been working incredibly hard on this concert, and we’d love to see the church packed with friendly faces on the night.

✨ Composer Birthday Spotlight ✨

Today we’re celebrating the birthday of Gabriel Fauré, born in 1845 and responsible for some of the most beautiful choral music ever written.

Honestly, the man had no business writing Cantique de Jean Racine at just 19 years old. It’s unfair to the rest of us, really. 😭🎼

This June, The Dalkeith Singers will be performing several of Fauré’s works, including:

🎶 Pavane
🎶 Cantique de Jean Racine
🎶 Madrigal

If you’ve never experienced Fauré live before, prepare for goosebumps.

Summer evenings. Live music. A beautiful church filled with sound. ✨

Join The Dalkeith Singers this June for an evening of soaring choral music, featuring Fauré’s hauntingly beautiful Pavane and Gounod’s magnificent St Cecilia Mass.

We’ve been hard at work polishing every note, and we’d love nothing more than to perform to a full audience. Whether you’re a longtime concert-goer or just fancy doing something a little different for the evening, come along and let the music carry you away for a couple of hours.
