Tonight our Cubs made hand prints for our Celebration Wall. Cubs will be 110 years old this year and we have a year of Celebrations.
We started with hand prints because hands are so important to Scouting its how we learn and teach skills, such as knots, pioneering, fire pit skills the list is endless. We also use our hands for our promise and just as important it's all the handshakes that makes the friendships around the world which makes Scouting what it is

Gone Home
Peter Hyde 1951 - 2026

Sadly Peter Hyde passed away on Monday 12th January after a short illness.
Peter has been involved in Scouting in Midlothian for 25 years

All our thoughts are with Peter's family, and friends from Scouting and beyond

Peter was dedicated to Scouting, having been a Leader initially at the 12th Midlothian (St John's) Scout Group, Midlothian District and finally at the 14th Midlothian (Bonnyrigg) Scout Group.

Peter was also dedicated to International Scouting, with his volunteering for the Blair Atholl International Jamborette, World Scout Jamboree in 2007 and Eurojam in 2005. Peter had also taken Scouts to Gibraltar twice, Haarlem International Jamborette in the Netherlands, and most recently taking Bonnyrigg Scouts to Jersey last year.
Peter was presented with an Award for Merit in 2023 for all his work.
