🏌️‍♂️🇸🇨 Congratulations and Good Luck, John! 🇸🇨🏌️‍♂️

Everyone at Howe of Fife Rotary Club would like to congratulate our fellow Rotarian John Robb on being appointed Scotland Captain for the upcoming Golfing with Disabilities international event at Herons Reach Golf Club.

This is a tremendous honour and a fitting recognition of John’s commitment, passion and dedication to the game. We know he will be a fantastic ambassador for Scotland, leading what promises to be a talented team in a wonderful spirit of camaraderie and competition against Wales and England.

We wish John and the entire Scottish team every success over the three days of competition. Whatever the result, we know they will represent Scotland with pride and determination.

Good luck, John – your fellow Rotarians are right behind you and will be cheering you on all the way!

Come on Scotland! 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

⛳🏆

In 5 days from now the first Tri-nations competition held by Golfing with Disabilities with teams from GWD England, GWD Scotland and the Welsh DGA will commence over 3 days. The event will be held at the fantastic Herons Reach GC who go above and beyond to make us welcome. Could I wish everyone competing, watching or helping a great time and may the best team win, though this is primarily about showcasing disabled people playing a sport they love. See you all next week for a great time.

Tonight at Pitlessie Village Inn, the Howe of Fife Rotary Club was truly inspired by our very own Rotarians Karen and Peter who also run the Guide Dogs West Fife Fundraising Group.

They told members about the guide dogs and the 5 puppies to date they have raised money for. They also brought us an eye-opening experience, letting our Rotarians try out blindfolds and puzzles to understand the daily challenges faced by visually impaired people. Members also got to try the incredible Meta Glasses, which could truly be life-changing.

Inspired by their work, we’re thrilled to announce we’re donating a pair of these glasses to the charity, hoping to make a real difference. And, of course, Bert, their wonderful black lab mascot, joined in the fun! What a fantastic evening, and we can’t wait to see what other inspiring connections we make next!

🌟 Supporting Local Talent 🌟

Howe of Fife Rotary are incredibly proud to support an exceptional young athlete, Skye Green, on what promises to be an amazing journey.

At just 18 years old, Skye is set to become the first woman ever from Falkland to play cricket in Australia, heading to Geelong for the 2026/27 summer season – a fantastic achievement and a moment of real local pride.

Skye’s dedication to cricket is inspiring. She plays for Falkland Cricket Club in the men’s cricket league, represents Fife’s only women’s cricket team, The Lomond Lynx, competes regionally with the Stormers, and is also involved with Scotland Emerging Girls, with her sights set on the U19 T20 World Cup.

Howe of Fife Rotary are delighted to be sponsoring Skye’s playing kit as she takes this exciting next step in her sporting journey. But she still needs further sponsorship support to help get her to Australia.

Skye is showing young people everywhere that dreams can become reality through hard work, determination and belief. If you or your business would be interested in supporting a talented local athlete on her journey, please get in touch.

Please join us in wishing Skye every success as she takes Falkland, Fife and Scotland with her on this exciting adventure! 🏏✨
