Founded in 1977, Cupar & District Model Railway Club is a small but very friendly club with members from a varied background and ages, but with a common interest in Railways and model making. We organise the annual Cupar Model Rail that is normally held in the Corn Exchange every July along with a number one day Christmas show in December.

We have a number award winning exhibition layouts in OO

, HO, ON30 and O scale operating in DC and DCC. A new HO DC Layout "Williamson River” is currently under construction in the club room by club members. We also have an N Gauge layout under construction by a member. We attend many local shows, including those in Glenrothes, Perth, St Andrews, Dundee, check out our Exhibition Diary for this years plans. If you would like to know more about our club, why not come along to our club room and have a chat with us. We meet Monday and Thursday nights 6.30pm - 9.30pm. Membership is open to anyone over 14, with an interest in railways. You can get involved as much or as little as you like, our members have a variety of skill sets and are always happy to give help and advice. We are members of AMRSS Ltd the organisers of Model Rail Scotland. We currently offer three types of membership:

Adult
Junior 14-17*
Country (open to those living 35 miles + from club rooms)

We have our own permanent club room, in the very heart of Cupar. Our club room is located on the first floor of the theatre block of the Castlehill Community Centre on Castlehill. The building is directly in front of you as you go through the gates. We are located on the first floor. Unfortunately we are currently unable to accommodate those that are unable to climb the stairs. Cupar and District Model Railway Club, The Old Theatre Block, Castlehill Centre, Cupar, KY15 4HA.

Membership fees are reviewed each year at our AGM and voted on by all eligible members attending. As a club, we do not purchase model railway collections. We can put you in touch with traders who buy and sell model railway stock and collections. Alternatively you may wish to consider eBay or some of the Facebook selling groups. Unfortunately we are unable to assist non members with building of their own layouts.

In Memory of Richard O’Neill

Cupar & District Model Railway Club is deeply saddened by the loss of Richard O’Neil, a long‑term member and a much‑loved friend.

Richard was a very funny guy, always ready with a joke or a story to lift the room. He was a great help to everyone, never shy of rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in with whatever needed doing.

His kindness, humour, and willingness to muck in made him a huge part of our club family. He will be sadly missed by all.
