Karen Masters is a Fife Artist who’s touring exhibition “Walking Through My DNA” is returning to Fife on the 22nd of May. The exhibition features 30 family stories presented with a ceramic shoe as a step back in time. It will definitely be worth a visit! 👞👠👢👡🥾🥿

This was snapped during a food (and tune?) break on Lappie farm, Fife in 1928. **🥣🪗**

In the bowl there’s a popular staple in the farming community - brose, or porridge. Brose is hot water poured over salted oats. It was served with milk, and often eaten with a wooden or horn spoon from a wooden bowl.

China bowls like the one pictured became increasingly popular in the 19th century as social eating habits changed.

This is just one corker from the Scottish Life Archive. It’s free to browse, and vibes unmatched ✨
