Next event at the Playing Field is this exciting outdoor theatre performance of Shakespeare's The Tempest on Saturday 4th July at 3pm.

Ticket prices are set by the theatre company, tickets are £10, or £8 for under 18's/students/unemployed. Sorry this news is a little late....our 100 Club draw for May took place at the Memorial Hall on 29th May during the Two Moors Way 50th anniversary celebrations. Sue Viccars, local author of guidebooks about the Two Moors Way and many other publications, was very helpful in undertaking the draw for us. Here is Sue with Playing Field trustee Dawn Parkhouse, thank you to both. Sue drew out ball number 51 which belongs to Lindsey Starrs...congratulations Lindsey!

Sadly this afternoon's Fun Dog Show has been cancelled. The organisers hope to reschedule for another time.
But what an amazing lot of makers, bakers and growers we have in Morchard Bishop! There are loads of entries to the show, why not come along from 2pm to see the show entries, and we have plenty of cake and hot drinks for refreshments.

The fabulous village show for all you Makers, Bakers and Growers is back at the Playing Field on Saturday 6th June. All of the classes are detailed in the pictures, or you can also get a copy of this list from the shop or the pub, or send an email to the organisers. Please get your entries in early to help the organisers plan the event.
A new addition to the day is a Fun Dog Show, and the Playing Field will also be holding its regular Car Boot Sale. Entries to all classes in the Makers, Bakers and Growers Show are free, same for entry to the Car Boot, there is a small charge for entering the Dog Show which all goes to the wonderful Blue Cross charity.
With so much going on, it should be a busy afternoon at the field, so why not pop along and join in the fun!

Hope you're enjoying half-term and this fabulous weather! Quick reminder that the Lighthouse Club is at the field for the remainder of this week. The remaining part of the playing field and the children's play area are open as usual for community use.

Date for your diary....this year's Vintage Rally & Family Fun Day will be on Saturday 1st August.
You may have seen in the Messenger that we published dates of a series of planning meetings for this event. Please note tomorrow's meeting (Mon 25th May) is CANCELLED.
In a feat of spectacularly bad planning, we managed to schedule this meeting so it was a)straight after Morfest, b) on a Bank Holiday Monday, and c) a forecast 28 degrees!

This weekend the Playing Field is hosting a group of motorcyclists having their annual get-together. They are a friendly bunch, so don't be put off visiting and using all of our community facilities as you would normally. You may see or hear bikes travelling through the village anytime today, and until they head home on Sunday morning.
