Our last course of the summer took place over the weekend at Biddestone near Chippenham. A great group built an amazing wall and really enjoyed themselves. Well done to everyone. Next years course dates will be available soon, watch this space!

A another successful dry stone walling course completed at Priddy over the weekend. The weather turned a bit "Mendipy" on Sunday with some rain, but didn't stop the enjoyment. Well done to everyone who completed a first class wall.

A super day at the Mid Somerset Show at Shepton Mallet. The first part of the curved wall around the picnic are is now completed.

The Nailsea dry stone walling course over the weekend was a very hot affair! With temperatures into the 30°s amazingly everyone continued working under the gazebos and completed some stunning work. Very well done all of you.

Marshfield in south Gloucestershire was the venue for our dry stone walling course, the weather on Saturday was high winds and lashing with rain, but everyone worked on and completed a fabulous wall. Very well done to everyone in very trying conditions, I was so impressed!

It was the third of our summer walling courses, this time at beautiful Ham Hill in Somerset. It was incredibly hot for the two days but a stunning wall was still created. Well done to Geoff our instructor and to all the boys on the course, very well done in very trying conditions.

A curved wall section being repaired by our members, the stone is pennant sandstone. It's found around South Gloucestershire and North Somerset. It is highly resistant to weathering, often composed of over 60% quartz, and used extensively for paving, heavy construction, and walling. Popular varieties include the Forest of Dean Stone and Welsh Blue Gloucestershire.

Over the weekend we held the second of this years dry stone walling courses at Priddy on the Mendip Hills. A tremendously high standard was achieved, check out the before and after photos, very well done to all. 🙌
