🎉 A MASSIVE THANK YOU FROM UNIQUE EVENTS (SW) C.I.C. – OKEHAMPTON CARNIVAL 2026! 🎉

What an absolutely incredible celebration of community spirit! ❤️

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Okehampton Carnival Committee for all their hard work, dedication and countless hours of planning that go into making this fantastic annual event such a spectacular occasion.

Carnival doesn't just happen by magic! ✨ Behind the scenes, there are months of preparation, a huge amount of teamwork and so many people working tirelessly to bring everything together. From the organisers and volunteers to our own hardworking staff and trusted partners, everyone plays a vital role in making the day a success.

A special thank you from all of us at Unique Events (SW) C.I.C. goes to our fantastic partners, Red Elephant Security and Training and the wonderful volunteers from West Devon emergency group volunteers , alongside our own amazing team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help ensure that everyone could enjoy the celebrations safely.

And, of course, we must mention the amazing people of Okehampton! What a turnout! It was wonderful to see the community come out in such huge numbers to support the Carnival, line the streets, cheer on the procession and create such an incredible atmosphere. This is what community events are all about! 🙌

We also loved hearing about the fantastic celebrations leading up to Carnival Day, from the wonderfully creative 80s and 90s-themed decorated windows and the coffee morning to Rob Pudner's“ Different Afternoon” (and who could forget “Custard, Custard, covered in Custard!” 😂), alongside the brilliant entertainment from Rob and Bubbles during the evening procession.

Huge congratulations to everyone involved, including the sponsors whose generous support helps keep this wonderful tradition alive, the float builders, walking groups, performers, participants and everyone who came out to show their support. The incredible neon and glow displays certainly made a lasting impression!

To the Carnival Committee, we hope you all manage to find a little time to put your feet up, catch your breath and enjoy a well-earned rest before the planning for 2027 begins! Although, with so many brilliant ideas already buzzing around, we suspect it won't be long before you're back at it! 😉

Congratulations to everyone who played a part in making Okehampton Carnival 2026 such a memorable occasion. The community spirit on display was truly something special, and we are proud to have been part of it.

Now, roll on next year! 🎆

A massive thank you to our amazing partners, Red Elephant Security and Training and the fantastic volunteers from West Devon emergency group volunteers , and of course, all our incredible staff who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to help ensure everyone could enjoy this year’s Okehampton Carnival safely.

What an absolutely incredible spectacle it was! 🎉 It was wonderful to see the whole community come together, creating such a fantastic atmosphere and a truly memorable occasion.

We couldn’t do it without the dedication, teamwork and support of everyone involved. Thank you all for playing your part in making Okehampton Carnival such a success! ❤️👏

A great evening last night for our security team, working alongside our good friends at Unique Events SW CIC!

It was brilliant to see so many people out enjoying the carnival and supporting such a fantastic community event!

It was also a real pleasure to meet and work alongside the fantastic team from West Devon emergency group volunteers. It was great to see everyone working together to help make the event a safe and enjoyable experience for all! 👏

A huge well done to everyone involved in organising and delivering such a successful evening.

We're proud to have played our part in another fantastic community event!

Over the weekend we teamed up with our friends at Unique Events SW CIC to support RUN Barnstaple, helping behind the scenes while the runners got ready to clock up the miles!

🌙 Overnight, our team provided asset protection, keeping everything safe and secure while Barnstaple slept.

☀️ On Sunday morning, we were back on duty manning the car park at runner registration.

A fantastic event and a brilliant atmosphere — we’ll leave the running to them! 😂🏃‍♂️

A Sunday spent in Taunton, supporting independents!
That sounds pretty good to us. 😀

Taunton Independent Market returns on Sunday 13 September, with a lovely mix of small independent businesses setting up shop on Castle Green.

There'll be good things to eat and drink, things made by hand, things for your home, gifts, treats and probably a few things you won't intend to buy but will be very glad you did. 😍

And that's really what we love about market days. They give small traders a chance to get their businesses in front of new people, but they also give us another reason to come into town, have a wander and spend a bit of time here in Taunton.

Maybe you grab a coffee somewhere! Perhaps you head into town for the market and end up staying for lunch, visiting a few shops or having a drink afterwards. That extra footfall spreads well beyond Castle Green, and it's so important for keeping our town centre busy and our independents thriving.

So if you're free on Sunday 13 September, head into town and make a day of it. Shop small, eat well, have a browse and support some brilliant local businesses while you're here.

⭐️There's something special about Taunton Independent Market Day in Taunton town centre.

⭐️This Saturday, Castle Green in Taunton will be packed with over 30 fantastic independent traders, bringing colour, creativity, incredible food and plenty of character to the heart of Taunton from 10am to 3pm.

⭐️One of the things WE love most about market days is the atmosphere, PLUS the smell of street food and fresh savoury bakes and cakes that fills the air, colourful stalls, happy faces, live music and people meeting friends and stopping to chat, browse and spend time together. It turns a shopping trip into an experience.

⭐️Markets don't just benefit the traders either. They bring hundreds of people into our town centre, creating extra footfall for local shops, cafés and businesses and helping to make Taunton a busier, more vibrant place to be.

⭐️This month's market features everything from illustrators, potters and craftspeople to bakers, food producers and street food vendors, alongside music all day from The Roller DisGoat and live entertainment from the talented students at The SPACE Somerset, who will be performing songs from the musical Chicago.
