Cindy Is No Push Over 💪🏼

We’ve all seen Tom Holland take on the legendary CrossFit Cindy workout… but let’s be clear: the workout existed long before Tom was doing it, and Cindy is no push over 😏

So today, we’re putting a twist on the classic and introducing our programmed piece:

🕷️ CINDY IS NO PUSH OVER

20-minute AMRAP
5 × Dumbbell Overhead Press
10 × Double Dumbbell Bench Press
15 × Dumbbell Goblet Squats

The rules:
🏋️ Only 2 dumbbells allowed
⚖️ The same weight must be used for every movement
⏱️ 20 minutes, as many rounds as possible (AMRAP)

RX: 22.5kg / 15kg
Or choose a weight you can manage without stopping.

Harry absolutely smashed it with 10kg dumbbells 🔥

We have reached a point we never wanted to get to.

Sadly, after multiple break-ins at Four Mills Garden, we now have to install CCTV, strengthen our boundaries and put up additional signs.

If you're out on a dog walk or having a stroll nearby and see anyone trying to break into Four Mills Garden, please call 101.

It's really sad that we have been forced to take these steps to protect a space that has been created for the community, but we're incredibly grateful for everyone who continues to look out for Four Mills.

Any damages caused by break-ins will be treated as a crime.

We do like it when people and local companies make decreasing waste central to what they do!

kitchen_edit are kitchen refurbishers based in Crediton that now have a fully electric delivering and collecting service.

And then, with what they don’t use, they think about who could use it… so when we were contacted by James and asked if we could make use of mould resistant kitchen/interior wood paint we leapt at the chance.

Have you seen the news?

Currently, disabled bus passes are only eligible for use between the hours of 09:30 and 23:00 on weekdays, making it difficult for people to get to work or attend later evening events.

Earlier this year Manchester removed time restrictions on bus passes for disabled people, now it's time for that to be universal... well... in April 2027

Progress in accessing meaningful employment and decreased isolation none the less.

An opinion:
- Denying people that are seen as 'different' equal access to our community creates division.
- We are all much more similar than we are different.
- We'd like to live in a community that is always welcoming and respectful.
- The Local Authority should use its position to model the language and behaviour that creates an environment of equal access.

A recent series of events left us feeling that there is some work to be done.
As we often do, we've taken our thoughts and used them to write a song.

We recently held a workshop for a group of creative young people from the Play Scheme. We centered the day around the myth of King Herla and our mission was to make the white dog jump off his lap so he could travel back in time to be with his wife.

How did we do that? A scavenger hunt, wand making, sock puppet making, a music video and we wrote a song to get the dog to jump. And we did! Our reward? Toasted marshmallows!

At the end of last year we shared that our friend and Non Executive Director Lindsey had died.

She was the wisest and kindest of white witches and always supported and took care of us. So in celebration of her life and with the help of the wonderful Vik Westaway and our community, she is now remembered in our garden.
