Social isolation is a growing problem across society…

According to the Office for National Statistics, disabled people are almost 4 times more likely to report feeling lonely ‘often or always’ compared to the general population.

This is why fitness is about much more than exercise.

A good CrossFit box isn’t just a place to train. It’s a place where people learn your name, celebrate your wins, notice when you’re not around, support you through challenges and workout with you.

Research comparing CrossFit gyms with traditional gyms found that CrossFit members reported significantly higher levels of social connection.

For many people, the most important scaling/adaption isn’t a piece of equipment.

It’s a sense of belonging.

Because everyone is entitled to more than equal access to exercise.

Everyone has the the right of equal access to community.

Boniface Bash Well Dressing

As part of the Boniface Bash event on the 6th June we will be doing a well dressing and we need your help!

We will be making flowers on the day but if you’re into crochet and fancy making some before the day here is a how to video and instructions below:

1.Make a magic ring and do 4 sc into it. Slip stitch to the first stitch.

2.In that same stitch do 1 hdc, 3dc, 1hdc.

3.Slip stitch into the next sc on the magic circle. Then 1hdc, 3dc, 1hdc. Repeat this in all stitches on the magic circle. You should end up with 5 petals.

4.Slip stitch into the first stitch you did on the magic circle. Tie it off and then tie together both the loose threads and don't cut them.

5.Please bring them on the day or drop them off at The Crediton Station Tea Rooms.

Thank you and happy crocheting!

Progress rarely comes from motivation alone.
It comes from the work you’re willing to repeat consistently.

HWPO — Hard Work Pays Off.

Not overnight.
Not instantly.
But over time, the effort adds up.

The sessions you show up for when you’re tired:
The mobility work.
The balance drills.
The suitcase holds that build grip strength, trunk stability, posture, and coordination.
(Especially valuable for improving strength and balance when thinking about cerebral palsy)

That’s where progress is built.

And in this heat, working hard also means recovering smart:
• hydrate properly
• replace electrolytes
• pace yourself
• stay consistent without burning out

Consistency beats intensity when intensity can’t be sustained.

Keep showing up. Keep doing the work.
Just like Luke. The results usually follow the habits.

A few weeks ago, we were joined by the brilliant The Deaf Academy, who performed 'Impulsive' live on stage for us.

Safe to say we didn’t stay in our seats for long - before we knew it, everyone was up and getting involved!

Here’s a little look back at an incredible performance full of energy, connection and joy.

A huge thank you to Crediton Parish Church for letting us use their beautiful space.

Rest has its place.
But complete rest isn’t always the answer.

Sometimes the right kind of movement is exactly what the body needs.

Structured functional movement can help…
• reduce stiffness
• improve circulation
• maintain strength and mobility
• support recovery
• rebuild confidence after injury or flare-ups

The key is understanding the difference between ‘harmful pain’ and ‘productive movement’.

Recovery doesn’t always mean stopping.
Sometimes it means adapting, progressing gradually, and giving the body the right input at the right time.

Movement is medicine - when applied appropriately.
