CODS What is now CODS started in 1964 as Crediton Operatic Society. Over the years there has been much success with musicals, plays and concerts.

📚 Matilda Jr 29th-31st October 2026 In 1972 the name changed to Crediton Operatic and Dramatic Society, giving the initials that form the group’s name today. Recent highlights have included

the granting of one of a very limited number of amateur licenses for “Jesus Christ Superstar”, performed in 2010, and 2012’s World Premiere production of “Powder and Paint”, the life story of Helena Rubenstein.

In Loving Memory of Graham

Here at CODS, we are extremely sad to hear the news that our dear friend and member, Graham, has passed away.

Graham has been a source of wonder, laughter and joy since joining CODS in 2020, when he performed alongside his nephew in The Sound of Music. He went on to sing in a number of our choral concerts and entertained our audiences with his amazing close-up magic.

In 2023, Graham took to the stage once again, this time as part of a comedy duo in our pantomime Cinderella, giving us all plenty of laughs with his brilliant comedic performance alongside Harry (Simple)and the Ugly Stepsisters

More recently, Graham supported us in celebrating our Diamond Anniversary Ball, where he once again wowed us all with his incredible magic.

Graham will be greatly missed by everyone at CODS. His warmth, humour, talent and wonderful ability to bring joy to those around him will never be forgotten.

Our heartfelt condolences go to his wife, Emma, and to all his family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.

Shine brightly, Graham. ✨
