This week the Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units in Cranbrook came together for some very special clay modelling workshops run by Steve Glynn from Artforeveryone.
The Rainbows made colourful birds while the Brownies and Guides made personalised figurines of themselves wearing their Girlguiding uniforms. Each girl followed step-by-step instructions to create their model and then added their own personalised twist to make each figure as individual as they are.
A huge "Thank You!" goes out to Cranbrook Town Council for supporting this activity though their community grant scheme, allowing everyone to get involved and proudly take home their creation at the end of the evening!

Last Saturday 3 our leaders and 3 Guides from Cranbrook went to big gig in Wembley. The girls and leaders had an amazing time and we got to share a bus with our friends from Sidmouth!

None of this would have been possible without the support from the Devon Lones who helped fund our travel.

Big gig will live on as core memory for girls and leaders alike.

What a magical week in Switzerland we’ve had! Our Girlguiding East Devon group has packed in so many adventures, climbing mountains, riding cable cars, braving thunderstorms, basking in beautiful sunshine, eating our weight in cheese and chocolate, making new guiding friends, meeting goats and cows, playing alpine horns, enjoying a fabulous campfire sing‑along with a makeshift fire, and even visiting a woodcutter’s workshop.

We’ve been tobogganing, swum in a lake, and shared countless fantastic moments together. One of the biggest highlights was visiting Our Chalet, one of the Girlguiding World Centres, where we held our pinning ceremony. It may have been bucketing down, but the smiles said it all, a truly unforgettable experience.

Our district Commissioner Becky and Guide from her Unit Pippa have embarked on an amazing adventure to Switzerland with our friends from Sidmouth a lot of work has gone into this trip can’t wait to hear all about it

1st Cranbrook Brownies would like to say a huge "Thank you!" to Jenny and Jo from Whimple Heritage Centre for hosting us at their fantastic local museum this evening!
All the girls (and leaders!) had a brilliant time learning about our local heritage and we were able to tick off a large part of the "local history" badge that we are working on this term.
We are really lucky to have such a fascinating collection right on our doorstep - thank you to all of the volunteers that help to run it and we definitely recommend it as a place to visit if you are looking for something to do on a Saturday! https://www.whimple.org/

Rangers is calling you - the rangers unit in our district is having an open evening;

Rangers are the oldest division in girlguiding and give 14-18 year olds the space to come together and hang out every other Tuesday term time only. We currently have 14 girls and are looking to expand our popular unit.

On Tuesday 2nd June 4th Exeter rangers are inviting girls who are around 13 to come and have a trial for our recruitment evening at 4th Exeter Rangers. We plan to have a fun beetle drive, s'mores and socialising evening planned!

It will be at Clyst Vale Broadclyst where we meet, on Tuesday 2nd June between 19:15-20:45 and the google permission form link is below. We encourage girls to bring any friends. We just need a permission form for each child attending. There is no cost for the evening.
