It's the Tithebarn Fun Day - Initial meeting tonight at 7pm. Meet in the bar of voco Zeal. Kids can come along if you need to bring them. Bring a pen and lots of ideas about what we want and how you can get involved! Does our community have what it takes to organise this for ourselves?

Ever wondered how the Broadsheet newsletter gets delivered through your door?

Every quarter the Broadclyst Parish Council newsletter is hand delivered in Tithebarn by our merry band of volunteers.
The process is simple. You join our WhatsApp chat at https://chat.whatsapp.com/HsdvqrHej9a2PKFbnWPgW7?mode=gi_t and we allocate you a street or two. Then you collect from my front door shelter at 3 Kiln Corner (it's the nice one with the pretty garden by the lower bus stop) whenever you like.
You deliver when you get a chance - with the dog, with the kids, whatever, ideally within this week. It will take about a hour.

Just because you help this time doesn’t mean you always need to so feel free to offer on an ad-hoc basis.

If you'd like to know more then ask me on 07581 179890 or in the WhatsApp chat.
The more that get involved, the easier it is.
Best, Marc

AGM UPDATE!
We’ve been approached by LNT Care Developments and Eagle One, the group that submitted the rejected planning application for the care home on the Jennings Gardens site (over the road from Tesco). They are intending to submit their planning proposal at the end of January with changes, including the offer to provide an option for the Parish Council to acquire the creche plot for £1 in the event that the application is approved and subsequently implemented.
We feel that residents should have the chance to listen to what they have to say and ask questions about this and so they will have a 30 mins slot at 19:10 at the AGM on Wed 21st Jan (The Black Horse), before we continue with the scheduled agenda. It might be standing room only so don’t be late!

The community of Tithebarn turned out in huge numbers to celebrate the season at our first Christmas get-together. Despite the rains rolling in just before the start time of 6pm, our spirits couldn’t be dampened as we gathered together to make new friends over a hot chocolate and sing along with festive carols.

The town square was packed as 127 local residents picked up their free hot drink from Strawberry Fields cafe, funded by the generous donation from Broadclyst Parish Council, exchanging the voucher featured in the Winter edition of the Broadsheet (and delivered by us, the Tithebarn Residents Association volunteers!)

The Broadsheet also contained our puzzle card for the annual Advent Trail around Tithebarn where each window contained a letter towards an anagram that spelt out ‘FIVE SLEEPS TO GO UNTIL?”. Our stall was inundated with children shouting ‘CHRISTMAS’ at us and collecting their sweet treat – either fruit, Haribos or a chocolate box. Thanks go to Teign Housing who funded our advent trail prizes, and Tesco who subsided our purchases.

With drinks in hand we sang along with the choir and listened to a sketch from Pinhope – the local church collective – before a impassioned address from Marc, the secretary of TRA – asking if our community has what it takes to host its own Tithebarn Fun Day next summer? From the turnout and the feedback it seems that answer is very much YES we do.

We’re really looking forward to tonight’s community gathering. Could we ask that you walk where you are able to as it looks like the rain may hold off, and we would like to ensure that the town square parking is available for those that really need it.

Please remember to bring your hot drink voucher and fill in your postcode beforehand to speed up the process of giving out vouchers for the cafe.

Remember that Tesco will be open still, and the cafe is serving baked goods to purchase. We would ask that people are considerate to avoid smoking near others and definitely not in any of the gazebos that will be erected on site.

Thank you to those that have lovingly displayed Advent Trail windows for us all, and thanks also to all those that have trodden the trail in the rain to earn their treat. Please bring your completed trail form if you can. All we really need is the answer though so make sure you’ve worked it out in advance.

In the gazebo there will be QR codes for you to sign up to join the Tithebarn Resident Association so please do come and say hello and find out how you can get involved in planning future events like the Tithebarn Fun Day next summer.

We look forward to seeing everyone at 6pm.
