**Important Message to All Parents**
We want to address an issue that has recently arisen and make our position clear.
Our SEN group exists for one reason: **to provide a safe, supportive and positive environment for our children and their families.** Aimee and Vicky give their own personal time to run this group as volunteers. They also have children with additional needs themselves, and they put a great deal of time, care and effort into making the group a positive place for everyone.
We understand that disagreements or difficulties can sometimes happen between parents outside of the group. However, we ask that any issues that happen outside of our sessions **remain separate from the group and are not brought into the group environment**.
If personal disagreements, arguments, accusations, threatening messages or other behaviour begin to affect the group, its volunteers or the children attending, we will have to take action. This may include asking the individuals involved to leave the group. **Our priority will always be the wellbeing and safety of the children and maintaining a respectful environment for everyone.**
We also want to be absolutely clear that our volunteers will not tolerate threatening or intimidating behaviour, including repeated voice notes or messages that are inappropriate or threatening. We are volunteers giving our time freely, and we deserve to be treated with the same respect that we show to everyone who attends.
We are aware of concerns that have been raised about the group and suggestions that the group is a โbullying groupโ. We strongly reject this. We take any genuine concerns seriously, but allegations or threats must be handled appropriately and respectfully. If anyone has a concern about the running of the group, they should raise it directly and calmly with us so that it can be addressed professionally.
We will always do our best to deal with issues fairly and appropriately, but we cannot allow ongoing conflict between adults to interfere with the children or the purpose of the group.
**Please remember: this group is about our children. Their needs, their wellbeing and their enjoyment must come first.**
Going forward, we expect all parents and carers to respect these boundaries. If they are repeatedly ignored, we will take the necessary steps to protect the group, its volunteers and the children who attend.
Thank you to all of the parents who continue to support the group and help us keep it a welcoming and positive space.
