Gold Community Partnership Surestart is an organisation here to help local families with children under 4 years of age by providing information, advice and services as well as help with returning to work, finding childcare, family support, family health and much more. We offer free services that are designed especially for famil

ies from the antenatal period until their child reaches 4 years old, regardless of income, benefits or job status. We work in 8 electoral wards – Gortalowry, Oldtown, Killymoon, Ardboe, Dunamore, Pomeroy, Maghera and Town Parks East 2 (Magherafelt). Contact us to check if you are eligible to register with us and join our range of programmes. Our page will be monitored between the hours of 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm Monday – Friday. 🌟Developmental programme for 2-3 year olds in Maghera 🌈

The children enjoyed playing together and taking part in group activities, using their imagination to create their own play. These experiences supported their social skills, language development, and confidence in communicating with others.🧡

The children explored painting using a variety of tools and resources, encouraging creativity and self-expression🎨🖌. Singing and story time helped to develop their listening skills and concentration.🎶🎤

The children were especially excited about the new den created using a giant blanket and couldn't wait to get underneath it🎪. This cosy space sparked imaginative play, provided opportunities for quiet chats and giggles with friends.😊🫶

In Pomeroy Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Old's, the children had lots of fun exploring different activities 😊

💧 They enjoyed water play using funnels and containers to pour and transport water.
🎨 The children loved mixing colours with paints and watching new colours appear.
🍳 In the outdoor play kitchen, they used their imagination to make pretend meals and play together.
🏃‍♀️ They also took part in physical activities outdoors, helping to build their balance, coordination, and confidence.

At Killeenan Developmental Programme our 2–3 Year Olds enjoy a wide range of sensory play, movement, and creative experiences 🌟🌈

The children explore painting with dinosaurs, making marks and patterns as they play, and also enjoy stamping and printing with their feet to create colourful artwork 🎨🦖

They take part in transporting and lifting tyres, helping to develop coordination, balance, and teamwork through active play. Sand and construction activities encourage imagination and creativity as the children work together to build and explore 🏖️

There are always lots of giggles and fun while hiding and relaxing in the tent, creating their own cosy little space together ⛺

The children enjoy learning about the world around them through hands-on exploration and play 🌿

Outdoor discovery activities encourage curiosity, with children exploring the soil and making exciting discoveries. These experiences often lead to conversations about nature, growing, and the environment around us 🌱

Imaginative play flourishes as children create their own recipes and potions using natural materials, flowers, and other treasures they find outdoors. This supports creativity, communication, and social interaction 💛

The children also enjoy observing bugs and insects in the garden, developing confidence and respect for nature as they explore living things up close 🐞

Construction and problem-solving play provide opportunities to develop fine motor skills and critical thinking. Using pipes and loose parts, children experiment with twisting, connecting, and creating ramps, exploring how objects move and investigating concepts such as speed and direction ⚽

🌟Maghera Developmental Programme for 2-3 year olds🌈

The children were fascinated by making their own magical concoctions 🪄, mixing shampoo, conditioner, shaving foam🧴, foam soap, and colours together. This sensory-rich activity introduced them to a variety of textures 🤲, smells 👃, and visual changes 👀, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and early scientific thinking.💥

They also enjoyed a painting activity 🎨 where each child independently chose their own colours and decided who their special picture would be for 💕. Activities like these help to develop hand-eye coordination, imagination and language skills as children express their ideas and emotions through art.

The fun continued with an exciting treasure hunt in the sand pit! Armed with magnifying glasses 🔍, the children searched for hidden treasures 🌰 🐚 🪙, developing problem-solving skills and concentration.

It was lovely to see so many curious faces 🧐, busy hands 👐, and proud smiles 😁 throughout the session.🌈
