Lilac Cancer Support

Lilac Cancer Support At LiLAC we provide vital services to people affected by cancer including complimentary therapy, transport, financial support etc! Help us, help others!

LILAC (Life is for Living After Cancer) was established in 2003 in response to a pressing need in communities in Mid Ulster for more support for cancer sufferers and their families. We are committed to caring, listening to and supporting those affected by cancer and their families in an informal, caring and confidential environment. A diagnosis of cancer is a life-changing experience for the patie

nt and their family. Cancer has touched the house of nearly every family in this country. Our aim is to provide some of the services which are not provided through the NHS. We offer cancer patients and their families complementary therapy, transportation to hospital appointments a vital service not available under the NHS, a friendly face and a reliable person to talk to, signposting and counselling. Our kind generous volunteers work very hard to support cancer patients, cancer survivors and of course their families. The majority of volunteers within LILAC have been affected by cancer themselves, so we understand you. We are so proud of everything our volunteers, their supporters and local businesses have helped us achieve. We are proud to have an amazing Youth Committee who work tirelessly fundraising, signposting, raising awareness and promoting our charity via social media. Do not hesitate to contact us

MENTAL HEALTH & CANCER ✨️

Living with cancer, or living post cancer treatment when in remission is multi layered when it comes to dealing with all the emotions attached.

From the initial diagnosis, to telling your loved ones, to processing the reality of what's ahead physically, to dealing with treatment and prognosis... the mental strain is heavy.

It's not only the patient who struggles, but also their wider family.

Everyone has their own ways of dealing with it.

I have been invited by Macmillan and Mindwise to talk about mine and my own family's experience at Europa Hotel , Belfast this Monday 1st June at 6.30pm.

It's an open, public event so please do come along if you believe it might help.

I'll pop the link to reserve your place in the comments.

Take care.

Emma x
