Registered Charity Number 1180237 About Congleton Santa 🎅🏻

Want to learn about Congleton Santa?

We help bring joy to local children in Congleton, while also collecting for many local charities. All our volunteers and organisers have regular day-jobs, many of them full time. Because we rely on the generosity of businesses, individuals and charities to keep Congleton Santa running, it'd be brilliant if you could make a small donation to keep us touring. We’ve been spreading festive cheer in Co

ngleton for many years. The current sleigh was originally built by the 'Elf Bell' in December 1998 to replace an older sleigh. Once upon a time, Santa was run by Congleton Roundtable 261, which celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2013. But unfortunately disbanded due to lack of numbers only two years later. Fortunately for Congleton, a group of five volunteers, former Round Tablers and friends couldn’t stand to let Santa stop knowing how much people across the town look forward to Santa’s annual tour to help their celebrations. They set up Congleton Christmas Collection, becoming a Registered Charity (Number 1180237), and got to work with help from other charities and organisations based in the town providing collectors each night to raise funds for their worthy causes. We inherited the sleigh from Congleton Roundtable in need of some serious TLC, its paintwork faded and the body needing some maintenance. Santa wondered if it would ever tour Congleton again. But Beardsmore Motors and John Sheard came to the rescue! They refurbished the Sleigh in 2017, with supplies from all-star Elves such as Belmont, LAC Autoparts, ThreadFast and Jewson Congleton. Wheels were kindly refurbished by Dave at Abovo Powder Coating and Sound System assistance came from Thompsons of Macclesfield. Thanks to everyones hard work Santa now has a sleigh that truly brings a shine to his tour.

🎁 We are not the Round Table, Lions or Rotary Club. We are a small Congleton charity consisting of only 5 core local volunteers (all with regular day jobs), who have worked hard to keep Santa going since Congleton Round Table disbanded in 2005. 🎁

A BIG Thank you from Santa

This Christmas, Congleton Santa spent 20 nights, visiting over 11,000 houses, collecting over £13,000! Thanks to the hard work of our team of volunteers, collectors and the amazing generosity of the people of Congleton. It’s being shared out amongst the local good causes within the Congleton area.

A big THANK YOU on behalf of the good causes and Congleton Santa. If we have accidentally missed any houses on the routes, Santa & the team are very sorry as we know the importance of sharing goodwill to all we try to see.

In 2025 we supported numerous local good causes and made donations to Buglawton Scouts, Centre Stage, Friends for Leisure, Mossley Preschool, Mossley PTA, Titans, Vale Juniors, Visyon and Dougie Mac Hospice in Barlaston.

That’s just to name a few of the causes supported by collectors on the nights.
We are thankful as ever to the many supporters of Santa’s annual town visit including Pooles Recovery for their invaluable support in getting Santa around, Alpha and Street Legal Tyres and Congleton Town Council for storing the sleigh.

Thanks to the local businesses for their corporate donations that help fund the running costs. Plus the local shops that take collection buckets during December, including Plant Paradise West Heath, Lower Heath Chippy, Jollyes, Iceland, Leek Building Society, Astbury Garden Centre Café, Bargain Booze West Heath, High Town Post Office, Wetherspoons, The Rams Head, The Railway, The Farmers Arms, Heath Farm, The Beartown Tap, Well Pharmacy, Premier Hightown, Morrisons Buglawton, No 43 sandwich shop, Spar Canal Road, Central Coop and Bromley Coop and a massive shout out to all the local businesses and individuals who donated treats for Santa to distribute on his tour!

You can check out my website congletonsanta.org.uk/donate to see ways to donate both now and throughout the year. Your gift would be collected securely by PayPal. You don’t need a PayPal account to donate this way, you can also use a credit card, debit card or paypal.me/congletonsanta Please select Gift Aid it will increase the value of your donation by 25%!

If you want to give from your phone by text message, then please text SANTA and the amount (in whole pounds) you wish to donate to 70450. You can donate as much as £20, or as little as £1. So texting SANTA 2 to 70450 would see you donate £2. Each donation is a one-off (unless you want to text again!), and is collected securely by DONR. (Texts cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message).

You can donate by Facebook donate. We are also registered as an eBay Charity, Simply search for “Congleton Christmas Collection” when listing your items and you can donate between 10 and 100% of the sale to help Santa support local good causes.

You can now also set up a regular, reoccurring, monthly, quarterly, half yearly or yearly Direct Debit to donation to us safely with Charities Aid Foundation – simply fill in the form.

Be good, and we’ll see you soon, Santa and his Elves.
