State of Nature
A mixed picture of the state of nature in the South of Scotland emerges in a landmark new study published this week. The Southern Uplands Partnership (SUP) has developed the State of Nature report, which is a first for the South of Scotland.
Presented in two parts, a summary and a more detailed data report, State of Nature South of Scotland reports on biodiversity across the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway.

The State of Nature South of Scotland report examines how nature has changed between 2000 and 2025, providing an important evidence base to help guide future land use decisions and biodiversity recovery efforts.

If you rely on heating oil and you're struggling to afford a refill, help may be available through the Scottish Emergency Heating Oil Scheme (SEHOS).

The scheme is administered by Advice Direct Scotland and can provide support to eligible households who have run out of heating oil or are at risk of doing so and cannot afford a delivery.

Wise offer face-to-face mentoring to empower families with things such as:

We’ve got plenty happening across Berwickshire this October break! Please see our poster for all activities, dates and times.

A few important things to know:

🏊 Duns Swimming Inflatables
Please meet us at Duns Swimming Pool at 2:50pm on Thursday 15th October.

Young people can sign up at Wednesday’s Drop In, or parents/carers can message us on Facebook if their young person has been attending regularly over the last few sessions.

⚽ Eyemouth Bubble Football & Laser Tag
Letters have already been given to young people who signed up.

📍 Meet us at Eyemouth Football Club:

* 12:45pm if attending both activities.
* 1:45pm if attending Laser Tag only.

⚽ Coldstream Bubble Football
Young people can sign up at Monday 12th October’s Drop In.

📍 Meet us at Coldstream Annex at 4pm on Monday 19th October, followed by our joint Drop In from 5pm–6pm.

⚽ Cockburnspath Bubble Football
Please meet us at Cockburnspath Village Hall at 12:45pm on Wednesday 14th October. See the separate poster for sign-up details.

💙 Please remember: Young people can sign up for trips and activities at their usual Drop In sessions beforehand. Places may be limited.
