💻 DON’T THROW AWAY YOUR OLD COMPUTER JUST YET! ♻️

Has your computer been telling you it’s too old to upgrade to Windows 11?

Before you start shopping for a replacement, we’ve got some good news! 🙌

With Windows 10 no longer receiving standard support from Microsoft, thousands of perfectly usable computers could end up being thrown away simply because they can’t run the latest version.

But there’s another option! 💚

At Clitheroe Repair Café, we’re offering help with Linux, a FREE alternative operating system that could give your old laptop or computer a whole new lease of life!

💻 Keep using a computer you already own

💷 Save money on buying a replacement

♻️ Reduce unnecessary electronic waste

🌍 Do your bit for the planet

You don’t need to be a computer expert either. That’s what we’re here for!

Not every computer will be suitable, but it’s certainly worth exploring before giving up on yours.

📍 Got an older laptop or computer gathering dust? Come and chat to our volunteers at Clitheroe Repair Café and see whether Linux could be the answer!

📲 PLEASE SHARE! You might just save someone hundreds of pounds and stop another perfectly good computer ending up in landfill.

👟 DON’T BIN THEM, BRING THEM! ♻️

Got a favourite pair of trainers that have seen better days? Maybe the sole is coming away, there’s a hole appearing or they’re just in need of a little TLC?

Well, we’ve got some good news! 🙌

This Saturday, we’ll have someone at Clitheroe Repair Café who specialises in mending trainers! 👟🪡

Because let’s face it, a good pair of trainers isn’t cheap, and sometimes a little repair is all they need to keep going for miles more!

💚 Save money
♻️ Reduce waste
👟 Give your favourite trainers a second chance

That’s what our Repair Café is all about. Bringing our community together, sharing skills and making the most of what we already have.

📍 Got a pair that needs some attention? Bring them along this Saturday and let us see what we can do!

And please SHARE this post with your friends and family. You never know who has a pair of trainers sitting in the cupboard waiting to be rescued! ❤️

We are celebrating International Repair Day by sharing the love, and donating £500 (£250 ea) to two local good causes which are close to our environment-loving heart: Ribble Rivers Trust and Ribble Valley Climate Action Network 🥳 🎉 💕

👉 Since our launch in March 2025, Clitheroe Repair Café has handled over 660 items, successfully fixing around 64% of them.
👉 Our amazing volunteers have contributed almost 1,500 hours of their time to make the cafe a success.

Repair Café International is celebrating its 10th International Repair Day on Saturday 17 October, and with more than 4,000 repair cafes registered wordwide, we are very excited to help mark the celebration here in Clitheroe! 🌍🛠️♻️❤️

Join us at our repair cafe next Saturday 17th at Clitheroe United Reformed Church - URC, 10-12, for more mends and good times! Remember, repairs are free but it's our visitors' incredibly generous donations that not only help keep the cafe running, but mean we are lucky enough to be able make an impact for other local good causes too - so thank you for all your support to date!

Have you got any broken items at home that need 'straightening' out, like these hair straighteners?

Bring them along to our next repair cafe at Clitheroe United Reformed Church - URC on Saturday 17 October (10-12), and our talented volunteers will do their best to get them mended for you!

Remember, repairs are free (but we welcome donations), and there's cakes, tea and coffee too so even if you've not got any broken items this time, you're very welcome to pop by for some treats (pay as you feel) ☕🧁

Summer may be nearly over, but we've had great fun doing your summer mends! Hands up, who else was losing their cool over broken fans during those many heat waves?! 🙌 😅

We're looking ahead to the autumn now, and our next cafe on Saturday 17 October (10-12) will coincide with International Repair Day, which is celebrating its 10th year! Stay tuned to find out more about the amazing collective action Repair Café International has helped facilitate, and what part we've played in that here in little old Clitheroe 🥰

18/09/2026

Who else is looking forward to tomorrow’s repair cafe? 😍

We’ve had a nice break over the summer, and all our hard-working volunteers are ready to roll up their sleeves and get back to mending! ☀️💪🛠️

We hope to see you there! Same time, same place, same great vibe: Clitheroe United Reformed Church - URC, 10-12.
