At Clitheroe Country Market you’ll find high quality home-grown, home-made and hand-crafted items. These are produced by our local produce

rs and sold cooperatively at the weekly market. Our markets have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and there’s no obligation to buy. Admission is free and there is disabled access and toilet facilities

We are a member of the Country Markets network of over 450 local markets in England, Wales and the Channel Islands and operate as a cooperative social enterprise. Our market opening times:

Every Tuesday at 9.30am
Produce is for sale from 9.30am until 12 noon
Coffee, tea and homemade cakes are served from 9.30am
Clitheroe Country Market is closed during the winter. The last market is in the 2nd week of December. We re-open in the 2nd week of March.

Our Clitheroe Country Market Menbers are a talented team each bringing their individual skills and quality produce to market each week.

This week’s focus is on Heather: “When I started my working life at the age of fifteen it was at Holmes Mill, Clitheroe. Here I learnt all aspects of textiles and weaving. This has been a life long passion for me, and now in my eighty’s, that I bring to Clitheroe Country Markets.

These are a mother and daughter designed, hand made, quilted and embroidered gifts for adults and children. The children’s embroidered books are a favourite, as are the patchworks and cushions. There are also many more gift ideas too! Every piece is made with 100 % cotton, using solar power and all from a ‘lancashire lass’ who loves all things textile!”

Our Clitheroe Country Market Members are a talented team each bringing their individual skills and quality produce to market each week ….
Anne: My personal goal is to create food which tastes great using whole and either unprocessed or minimally processed ingredients.
I make egg custard tarts every week and these do not contain palm oil, maize starch or addfitives. They are made with fresh eggs rather than pasteurised, gently flavoured with organic vanilla extract and there is even a little fresh cream in them. Pastry cases are made with all butter.
I bake a range of muffins, cupcakes and fresh cream buns all made with real butter, also sweet yeast bakes; swirly chelsea buns or apple and caramel buns.
