And now to introduce the host of our Crafting Table Shine PND Support
Three of our makers, Fiona Hayes, Anna Marshall and Becky Kimberley are or have been tutors for this wonderful charity, we've all witnessed the incredible effect having some quality time to craft can have on people's mental wellbeing.
Founded by the truly amazing Lauraine Cheesman, who suffered from crippling Post Natal Depression after the birth of her second child.
With support from her family, friends and the healthcare system, and also some self prescribed crafting, she made her recovery.

In her own words:
I want to give mums the peer support that makes such a difference. I didn't have someone who "gets it".
To give mums the chance to be creative, as I know it can bring peace and calm.
I want to give the mums the chance to re-charge, that "me time" is so crucial.

Shine offers eligible Mums a 12 week course with 2 hours of gentle guided creativity and peer support.
They have a separate Creche so mums get some much needed me time.
Sessions runs in Cirencester, Dursley, Gloucester and Swindon.

Honoured to be working with Swindon and Gloucestershire Mind and the incredible work they do.

🌳💚 Help Us Grow a Tree of Hope Across Cirencester

Sometimes, a few kind words can make all the difference.

This September and October, we're proud to be partnering with Swindon & Gloucestershire Mind to bring the Tree of Hope to communities across Cirencester.

As the tree travels around the town, we'll be inviting people to write a message of hope, kindness or encouragement on a leaf and add it to the tree. Whether it's a positive thought, a reminder that someone isn't alone, or simply words you'd like someone to hear on a difficult day, every message matters.

Collectively, we'll create a powerful display of support from our community, showing that kindness and connection can have a lasting impact.

💙 If you see the Tree of Hope during its journey, please take a moment to add a leaf.

📲 Follow our social media channels to see where the tree is visiting next and join us as we grow a Tree of Hope across Cirencester.

Using Craft for the mental wellbeing of local Mums, giving them a safe space and peer support.
That's why we've included a Drop in Crafting Table hosted by Shine at our Event.

Spaces available in Swindon

Shine is a fantastic support network, we are like minded Mummies going through similar experiences and this is a safe and supportive space. Please do feel free to use this page to share your highs, lows and "anyone else?!" Discussions. It's okay not to be okay and we are here, real mummies, real people and real friends. I know I say it in most of my posts but I really am here if you need to chat!

The upcoming season is a stunning line up including natural Christmas wreath making!

Creative Therapy Workshops

ENROLLING NOW

At Shine, we understand that motherhood can be overwhelming, especially when faced with perinatal mental health challenges such as anxiety, postnatal depression, or simply that feeling of “not being yourself.” Our workshops are here to offer a safe, welcoming space where you can take time for you. Create, connect, and heal.

Held weekly during term time over 10–12 sessions in two beautiful, accessible venues in Swindon, our sessions bring mothers together to enjoy hands-on creative activities like resin jewellery, slow stitching, and more. No experience is needed—the focus is on the process, relaxation, and the joy of creating something that’s just for you.

While you take part, your little ones are cared for nearby by our experienced and nurturing crèche team. This allows you to focus fully on yourself, while knowing your children are playing, socialising, and being cared for in a supportive, understanding environment. Many of our team and workshop leaders are mums who have been through their own perinatal mental health journeys, so there is no judgement, only empathy, encouragement, and community.

Workshops run at just £2 per session (including materials, refreshments, crèche, and your finished piece to take home), with donation-based flexibility if needed.

Most importantly, Shine is more than a workshop, it’s a lifeline for many mums. Mummies with us share how these sessions have helped them feel calmer, more confident, and less alone. Here, you can find friendship, laughter, creativity, and a renewed sense of self whilst navigating the effects of perinatal mental health.

If you’d like to join us this autumn, we’d love to welcome you.

A shout out to our amazing Creche Teams!!! The amazing women who build the trust of our brave mums… who gently build the trust and confidence of the Shine babies and toddlers… they engage and play, sing and soothe, patient angels with calming auras, funny faces and bubbles, rocking and wearing babies…. Without these amazing teams.. Cirencester, Swindon, Gloucester, Dursley and Cam… our Shine Mums would not be able to Shine ✨ Thank you all!!! And thank you to the wonderful Mums who created this gorgeous collage as a surprise for our Cirencester team!

Shine Mums had the pleasure of meeting Lizzie Bean, the most uplifting human bean, as she led us on a journey of self kindness and awareness. Lizzie’s workshops are so inspiring as she pushes back against the pressures and apparent “normals” of society… what we should look like, how we should act.. and the feelings of failure as we struggle to fit into man made boxes. Lizzie brings out the bean in us all as she helps us unpack what our own personal needs are, what fuel fills our souls, to ignore the noise and reconnect with ourselves. To celebrate ourselves! We laughed, we shared, we saw things in a new light… a light to follow ✨
