Join us at Hazel Wood near Mitcheldean for inclusive, welcoming, community co-created, land-based events, workshops, and environmental stewardship. HARE Forest School CIC is a non-profit Forest School based in Parkend, Lydney, Gloucestershire. We run Parent & Toddler Forest School, Family Forest Gatherings, Home Education Forest School & other workshops & retreats to support family well-being. Our sessions incorporate bushcraft, family yoga, arts and crafts, mindfulness, games and outdoor play.

Itโ€™s two years today since we received the licence to run hare at Hazel Wood. Weโ€™re massively thankful to Andy and Kerry at Oakraven Field Centre and their family for all their help in acquiring the licence, their support over the past two yers, and for allowing us to use their car park and cross their field to access the wood. We are also incredibly thankful to every single person who has joined us for workshops, walks, gatherings, seasonal celebrations, or brought children our childrenโ€™s workshops. And a huge thank you to everyone who has volunteered or worked with us, making hare the awesome nurturing community it is. Hereโ€™s to more amazing years. ๐Ÿ’•

We're looking forward to another day in the woods tomorrow for our next volunteer Land Stewardship day. Come and keep cool in the shade of the trees. Connect with nature and like minded people, in our beautiful ancient woodland.
We will be clearing paths and shifting wood, with a break for a community lunch around the fire. Bring a packed lunch, we will provide hot drinks. 10:30am-3:30pm.

What a scorcher โ˜€๏ธ These were some of the hottest workshops weโ€™ve run but we are soooo grateful to have a woodland site on hot days like this week. We kept cool in the woodland while playing, creating and making memories.

Weโ€™ve absolutely loved the past two days and canโ€™t wait to see all your young people again during the summer holidays!

Weโ€™ve had a fantastic day in the forest with the children. Thereโ€™s been some amazing team work and immense focus on their chosen tasks, which included gardening, building a saw horse, whittling water play, building a massive den and lots more. There was also lots of moments chilling in swings and hammocks, a community lunch together and keeping hydrated with lemon balm and lemon water. We will be back tomorrow to do it all again. We still have a few spaces if your child would like to join us. See the children workshops page of our website.

Create soothing herbal skin care in this Summer morning workshop in our beautiful ancient woodland, near Mitcheldean, Gloucestershire.

Make a healing herbal salve and herbal lip balm to take home, to soothe and moisturise dry skin. Includes herb journey meditation, herbal teas, snacks cooked on the fire and tea/coffee.
