🚨 LAST SPACES REMAINING 🚨
Could you see yourself doing this?

✔️ Abseiling down your first wall
✔️ Walking through nature with a supportive group
✔️ Trying something you never thought possible

At Mad Adventures, we create fully funded experiences for people living with a disability or chronic health condition (including Parkinson’s, MS and stroke survivors)

We’ve only got a few places left for our 8th–10th May and 19th-21st June residential adventure weekends in the Forest of Dean.

You just need to be able to get to the location — we’ll support you with the rest.

No experience needed. Just a willingness to give it a go.

👉 Get in touch via the website www.madadventures.org or drop us a message — we’ll talk you through everything 😊

🌿 Exciting news from MAD Adventures! 🌿

We’re thrilled to receive a Helping Hand grant from North Cotswolds Rotary to support our wildlife observation project for adults living with disabilities and long-term health conditions.

The grant will fund night-vision binoculars, bat detectors, warm camping blankets, and more, helping participants enjoy calm, immersive wildlife experiences—watching foxes, badgers, and deer—comfortably and safely. 🌙🦇🦌

A huge thank you to North Cotswolds Rotary for helping us make nature accessible for everyone!

✨What if adventure could change lives?✨

Well…..it can, and it does!

Last week we had a fantastic day with MAD Adventurers at Mallards Pike in the Forest of Dean - canoeing, raft-building, laughing and pushing boundaries together.

One participant summed it up perfectly :

‘“I never expected to have that experience again”

💙Here’s to more adventures and ‘I never thought I could moments’

We’re proud to announce that we’ve received a grant from Barnwood Trust! 🎉

This funding will enable MAD Adventures to expand our inclusive outdoor activity programmes — helping us provide empowering, confidence-building experiences for disabled people and those with chronic illness across Gloucestershire.

Congratulations to Sue Sandars, you deserve this recognition 👏

🌟 We’re thrilled to announce Sue Sandars as our Peter Shave Volunteer of the Year 2025! 🌟

Sue is an incredible ambassador, campaigner, and support to so many in the Different Strokes community. From sharing her story at events to offering friendship and encouragement online and in person, she brings warmth, honesty, and unwavering support to everything she does.

After her own stroke in 2010, Sue found a new purpose through volunteering — not just to raise awareness, but to make sure no one feels alone in their recovery. Her openness, energy, and advocacy have inspired countless others.

As our CEO Austin says, “Sue is a shining example of what it means to live a full and vibrant life after stroke.”

Congratulations, Sue — and thank you for everything you do. We’re so proud to have you in our community.

What MAD is all about…

Izzy’s MAD Adventure 2025 🛶 🚴 🥾

MAD Adventurer, Izzy, has just completed her own MAD Adventure in Snowdonia, to raise awareness of living well with chronic health issues!

Supported by her friend, Amanda and the MAD Adventures CIC team, Izzy completed a picturesque canoe around Lake Llanberis, a long slog up to the top of Snowdon, then a stunning tandem bike ride around the valley and back to Llanberis, totalling a whopping 55km… and all with a huge smile!!

Izzy was diagnosed in her late teens with Rheumatoid arthritis and manages her condition with plenty of activity, healthy living, and the occasional crazy adventure!!

Well done Izzy, incredible effort!!
