This weekend Group Lead Volunteer Mark has travelled over to Wakefield Scouts Canal Boats to complete some training and to achieve his Narrow Boat Permit. Massive thanks to Chris and Terry for their tuition and experience.

This will open up even more opportunities for our members here at 38th Chesterfield to take part in new and exciting adventures on the canals and allow for that extra special camp on a narrow boat!

Massive thank you and shout out to Allen & Orr - Chesterfield for donating some perfect poles suitable for pioneering.
We intend to use the poles at Poacher International Jamboree to build our campsite gateway, maybe something similar to pictured.
It’s local people and businesses that make things like this achievable.
What’s better is the poles will be available for us to use in the long term for future pioneering projects!

Here at 38th Chesterfield we love celebrating our members past and present.

Eddie was a great Scout who went through the sections as a popular and talented Scout.

Eddie left Scouts as he was pursuing his acting career.

Sure enough Eddie has shown just how good he is having already filmed a movie and is due to star in a TV show too.

I am very pleased to share the trailer for Eddie’s movie which will show in cinemas in September.

I like to think that Scouting helped build Eddie into the confident and skilled young man that he is becoming and hopefully he holds his Scouting background as a good contribution to his success.

Well done Eddie! We can’t wait to watch you on the big screen! 🎥 🍿

Today we celebrated St George’s Day with our traditional church parade. It was a good turnout for our group as well as some guests from Chesterfield Scouts.
Well done to all 19 of our members who attended and represented Scouting in Loundsley Green and renewed their promise!
