Little Roo Neonatal Fund

Little Roo Neonatal Fund This is the charity page for Little Roo Neonatal Fund at St Peter's hospital.

St Peter's Neonatal unit provides care for sick and premature babies requiring intensive care. Without the support from fundraising and donations they would not be able to continue the amazing work they do. This page is to share fundraising and charity information and share your own personal journeys.

Cecily was born in Feb 2025 at full term, and a stay in NICU was the last thing we expected. However, just before she entered the world, she inhaled a significant amount of meconium, which caused her lung to collapse. Critically unwell, she was transferred as an emergency to St Peter’s.

Cecily spent five weeks in NICU, where she required mechanical ventilation followed by oxygen support as she gradually recovered. Thanks to the incredible care she received, she is now a happy, healthy one year old - at her happiest when she’s busy bossing her two big brothers around!

Seven years ago, within hours of Rupert being born, our world turned upside down. Severe breathing difficulties meant he was rushed to the NICU at St Peter’s Hospital, and suddenly our precious new born was inside an incubator, fighting to breathe.

Nothing can prepare you for that moment – the fear, the helplessness, the uncertainty of whether your child will be okay.

But the NICU team at St Peter’s were extraordinary. Their skill, compassion, and unwavering support will never be forgotten.

They didn’t just care for Rupert – they cared for our entire family, offering comfort and hope when we needed it most.

Today, Rupert is a thriving 7-year-old, full of life and energy. We will never forget what these incredible people did for us.
