Chertsey Mens Shed are very proud to have been nominated for Volunteer Team Award at the Runnymede and Spelthorne Volunteers Award 2026. The awards are set to recognize the dedication and hard work of volunteers in the community. On the 9th of June shed members Peter and Keith attended the awards to collect the certificate for runners up in the awards. We are very proud to have been nominated and to know that our community supports us and appreciates the work of our Shed and more importantly our team of volunteers.

Chertsey Mens Shed would like to say a huge 'Thank you' to Holme Farm Community Workshop for donating some of their decking to us which will allow us to raise funds for our Shed. Special thanks to Steve from Holme Farm (pictured below with Peter from Chertsey Men's Shed)

It's great to have two community projects working together to support each other.

Chertsey Mens Shed will now be busy preparing for their stall at the upcoming Black Cherry Fair in July.

Deputy Lieutenant Nick Wood-Dow visited the Chertsey Men’s Shed on Saturday 30th May at their Open Day, where they recruited their 50th member. Established in the last three years, Chertsey Men’s Shed has just been awarded Silver Status by the UK Men’s Shed Association for the support they give to Veterans.

Well...what can we say apart from a massive 'Thank you' to everyone that took the time out of their busy Saturday to come to our Open Day yesterday. . At 9.45 yesterday morning the Shedders were outside wondering if we would have anyone turn up for our Open Day and then at 9.59 a lone man walked in and we all said phew... at least one... Then the crowds arrived. We had over 100 people through our gates between 10 and 3. Some came to find out more about our Shed, some came to purchase unique gifts some just came to browse but all were very very welcome. The amazing support made all the preparations in the run up to the Open Day worthwhile. Thank you again to everyone 🥰

Our next event is the Black Cherry Fair on Saturday 11th July at Abbey Field Chertsey, we look forward to seeing you there.

**Tomorrow's the day for our Open Day at Chertsey Mens Shed ** Come along between 10 and 3 - we are opposite Aldi's in Chertsey. Have a cup of tea or coffee and maybe a biscuit or two and talk to our members (both men and women) about what they do at the Shed.

We have a range of unique gifts for sale that have been made by our members including planters, wheelbarrows, bird feeders, Swift boxes, Bat boxes, hedgehog houses, bespoke house signs,keyrings and plaques, hand turned wool spinners, mushrooms and trees.

If you are unable to make it tomorrow but want to know more, you can come in the Shed and have a look round and a chat anytime the gates are open.
